  • Updated: Windows updates July 17 and August 11,2022 causes Uniface Anywhere to fail connections


    The issue applies to the following host operating systems running Uniface Anywhere version 6:

    • Windows Server 2022 Standard/Datacenter
    • Windows Server 2019 Standard/Datacenter
    • Windows 10 x64 Pro/Ent 20H2/21H1/21H2
    • Windows 11 x64 Pro/Ent 


    Symptom:

    When Windows Updates released on July 17th are applied:
     Uniface Anywhere Application Publishing Service will start, but connections will not be accepted.

    Message: “Failed to start session.”

    Resolve actions:

    •    Enable the Windows Compatibility Assurance by selecting to install the Uniface Anywhere 6.0.5 version within the Admin Console, Host options, Updates.
    • Download and install the Uniface Anywhere 6.0.5 version from: Downloads - Rocket Community (rocketsoftware.com) Select in the left column: Uniface and find in the right column: “UNI-30634            Uniface Anywhere 6.0.5”


    Notes

    • Uniface Anywhere applications and components are signed with the Certificates issued by Rocket Software Inc.
    • Critical updates supplied under Windows Compatibility Assurance can contain files with code signing Certificates issued by GraphOn Corporation. This is intentional and by design to be able to deliver patches with the lowest risk of downtime of the Host that requires the update.
