I have been working on getting MVVS operational via X11 on a RHEL8 server.

Recently RHEL put out the following table, indicating that OpenJDK 11 ends full support at the end of this month.

Table showing OpenJDK support per RHEL version
Does MVVS work with OpenJDK 17 or later?

    Hi Gregor,

Java bytecode is forwards compatible. I.e., a newer JVM can run java byte code compiled for an older JVM. OpenJDK 23 (or whatever RHEL8 latest is) should be able to be used.

The Rocket MVVS docs say OpenJDK 11 or higher. Rocket MV BASIC (rocketsoftware.github.io)
