Hy,
why you dont create a dict with a validade date (Dictionary-Code S) just for the selection and use your dict with Month-Year to display ?

Subject: SS Spreadsheet connective choking on date in compound Item ID
Hi Brian and Walter,
Thanks for your assistance.
What you suggest does not work for the following reasons:
- The SS connective requires a date range much like a "WITH" connective, but spec'd as this 'SS MONTH "01/01/2020" "31/12/2020" ...'. As such the A8 dictionary item has to return a valid date.
- IF A8 is left blank, what is returned to SS is the complex ID which the date is just a part of it and thus the query returns "No items..."
- Similarly, If A7 is transferred to A8, the returned result is not a valid date....
So that I am in a catch 22 situation.
FWIW, if I just do a DMA]T1,3 in A7 it works just fine, but I want the Month and Year concatenated...
Best regards and keep safe,

Hi Brian,
When that is done, no items are returned at all... the reason being that the value returned from A8, in that instance, is not a valid date "Dec-2012" ...
FWIW, the SS connective used in context would look similar to this: LIST fn WITH some.selector = "xxxyyyzzz" BY some.sortfield break-on some.sortfield SS start.date end.date SUMMARY.ATTRIBUTE det-supp ...
