Hi
Using eg. Sql-server I suppose that using 64 bit version, one should use the 64 bit odbc version connecting to the database.
I haven't seen very much about 64 bit development version. I don't even know about compiled files, eg. in uar-files, are those compatible to use
by both 32- and 64-bit runtime versions?

Thank you Gianni. This helps a great deal. I will keep this information in mind in our shop's effort to move to a 64-bit IDE.

Hi Jim,
IMHO the only other consideration is related to YOUR software ecosystem; we are considering too switching to 64bit IDE and my check list is including a serie of Windows tools not being part of standard MS Windows installation that are used for one reason or another within our custom management software like:
- Ghostscript printer (to generate PDF)
- Irfan Viewer (to manage images)
- unix utils for Windows (to manage files)
- ...
All these external software MUST be available in a 64bit environment before completely switching to 64bit IDE.
I hope it helps...
Regards,
Gianni

With options in Uniface version 10.4.02 for a 32-bit or 64-bit IDE installation, what considerations/dependencies are to be considered in making this decision? I am aware of hardware and operating system but is there anything related to the DBMS that should also be considered?
