    Afternoon all,

Apologies, I have only recently become acquainted with Uniface, so am still finding out the art of the possible.

Has anyone been able to user cisco's performance monitoring tool AppDynamics (Cisco AppDynamics - Cisco) to monitor an application deployed on Uniface?

    Any advice very much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Lee

    Hi Lee,

    That's a 'difficult' question..
    Starting questions would be:
    What's your application infrastructure like?
    C/S, web based or combo?
    Database and connectivity used?
    Regards,

    Knut

Hi, thank for taking the time to reply.

The app is a combination of client server and web based.  We have deployed to a Windows OS and an Oracle database.  IIS and Tomcat are used for the web element.

I have a degree of confidence that we will be able to glean some insight into what is occurring at either side of Uniface.

    Regards

    Hi Lee,

If you have other applications using Oracle I think you'll have a challenge to identify just the Uniface traffic since
Uniface uses the OCI interface from Oracle.

You might be able to gleam some info from the server traffic  since the Uniface exec / DLL would be coming from
a server (I presume).  Also some info re the Uniface components.

As for internal performance metrics within the Uniface application - that's another story....

    Regards,

    Knut
