So, following on from the 'message box popup', the tester who came to check on it is using Uniface Anywhere, and it doesn't work for him. It does work for me on the RDP session.
I did a quick google, and based on the fact that UA is a rebrand of other software, found a thing which would potentially let me write the batch and vb files to the UA client, and then execute them, but I can't find the equivalent .exe in the UA folder. (goput),
I can't remember offhand if the VB (not script, VB) DLL we used prior worked under the UA settings either, so I suppose the raw question is "Can I get a windows notification popup working on Uniface Anywhere clients?"
With a secondary question of "Can I execute anything on the UA client machine?". We use the installed java clients for our UA client side if that makes a difference. (It means I can also have batch files or similar installed).
