I am mostly certain that I used option 15 to set my programs to allow debug. I have verified this in *DEV and ITG. Now the program in QUA is not showing the debug source.  What am I missing? I wanted to define this UDF as all SQL to make it easier to use with external platforms like SSRS. We have had times when we wanted to review the documents for a deployment set.  Now, I am sure there is a better way, but at the time I was new. Hello. I have a customer that we are migrating to iCluster from iTera. We have access to their source system and have created a new source (To be source) system and target (to be target) on our servers. We were planning to migrate them by pointing the current source system to our two systems. Theirs will be called system A, our to be source is B, and our to be target is C. Original thought was to Point A to both B and C. Then we would roleswap or shutdown A, and then modify B to point to C and be done. But while setting up the groups, this did not seem to be the way to go. Using *HADR did not seem like it would work (the only way I saw to point to two different systems). We opened a ticket with support, and they suggested A to B, and B to C. But that also brings up questions about how to do the switchover and get B to be the new primary and leaving out A. Currently we do not have access to the iTera target, so we cannot use the p

We have inherited an SQL file definition from previous developers.  At the time, they made a good decision to move a file from DDS to DDL.  This file is a reference file and has many, many fields. When we go back into the source member to change a set of fields from 9,0 to 12,0 we end up with "SQL statement too long or complex."  The source member is a *TABLE/SQL.  I tested using ALTER TABLE from STRSQL and that all worked.  Now, what type of object do I create in Aldon so I can list all the fields to be updated with the new definitions and be able to run that source member tied to the original file. Yes, the problem is the CREATE TABLE failing.  When I tried to pull the LABEL statements out, it still failed. ------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

One of the first tricks I learned as a newbie System/38 developer was from Jim Sloan at a COMMON conference in the 80's  (whoa...talk about "way back"!). The tip was this: "If you need a program to process a database file that just needs to exist for the life of the job, create that file in library QTEMP. Once the job ends, the OS automatically deletes this library as well".  Super-slick. So, what's the challenge? The challenge is compiling this program. You have to create the file in your interactive session's QTEMP and then compile your program interactively (not in batch) in order to find that file in that same job's QTEMP library. That's not an impossible challenge, but what if you have LMi and you need to move your program up the workflow using LMi's promotion? These all get submitted to batch! We get this question quite often, so I thought I'd give everyone some ideas. My best idea it this: create all of your "QTEMP files" in a special library, e.g. LMIQTE

So you've got the new Rocket DevOps and you really like using it, but, let's face it, sometimes you forget where you stored that bookmark to get to the URL. Did you know that you can hot link to it right from the comfort of your LMi Main Menu? Some time ago, we added Option 15 "Report Manager" to the main menu. This is basically just a URL that you can click on to launch in your default browser. The sneaky bit is that we don't care what URL you put in there, we'll launch whatever you give us. So, why not put the link to your RDOp in there. I am starting to use the GoAnywhere RUNPROJECT command in a CLLE.  When I try to compile within the tool formerly know as Aldon, I get a compile error as the command is not in the standard library list.  I cannot use a qualified call for RUNPROJECT because the command is not in the same library on the development and production systems, GACLIENT vs GOANYWHERE.  How do I get around an object, in this case a command, not being in the standard libraries. I have a CL program that is used to change the DDM/DRDA user password for iCluster replication processes. I generate a random 25 character password and then use that variable to update the password on the production system, which will replicate over to the target system. I also need to change the server authentication entry, and if the program is run on system A, the CHGSVRAUTE command needs to be run on the target. I tried the following, but it didn't work... DMSYNCCMD CMD(CHGSVRAUTE USRPRF(user_profile) SERVER(QDDMDRDASERVER) USERID(user_profile) PASSWORD(&PWD25)) GROUP(SYSTEM)When the &PWD25 variable gets expanded, it gets surrounded by single quotes, and generates the error CPD0020 error...Character 'S' not valid following string '' DMSYNCCM'. We have a process on our iSeries that retrieves a customer bill image as a PDF document and stores the file on the iSeries in the IFS. The URL of the iSeries and the folder containing the PDF documents is controlled by values in the LWM:PDFIP HTTP ://xx.xxx.x.xxx/LEGASUITE andPDFIFSLOC PDF_FOLDER. We open the PDF using the following command from our script: URLOpen(gPdfUrl) where gPdfUrl = PDFIP + PDFIFSLOC + file.PDF. (NOTE: the name of the PDF file (file.PDF) is passed to the iSeries from our GUI script). Question: Is there a way to issue a command from the GUI scriptto delete this file from the IFS? So you are using OAuth and perhaps also an identity provider for authorization and authentication, and you are using services that need authentication through this OAuth2 token.How to set this up with Rocket MX Web?This example shows how an OAuth2 token can be used to collect user information from the APIs from Keycloak.
