Highlights of Version 10.6.2

General Enhancements

Security Enhancements for Stronger Compliance and Risk Mitigation

To help customers stay aligned with the latest security standards and reduce exposure to known vulnerabilities, we’ve made key security upgrades across our components.

  • The Log4j library has been upgraded in the MX&A Hub, Process Insights Recorder, MX&A Gateway, MX&A Workbench, and API Engine to address security vulnerabilities.

Rocket Modern Experience

Installation Improvements

Installation processes have been enhanced to deliver a smoother and more intuitive experience.

  • Improved usability of the MX Web Engine installation on Windows.
  • Enhanced folder cleanup following Web Engine uninstallation.

Simplified SBXA Modernization (Beta)

Import MV - SBXA JSON screen metadata

  • MV SBXA JSON screen metadata files can now be imported into project albums using the Screen Definitions Import Wizard.
  • With Imported SBXA screen metadata, Screens & Labels can be automatically identified and processed in MX to run SmartBuild, enabling faster transformation into web applications.

Observability

  • Rocket MX now supports the OpenTelemetry (OTel) framework to enable observability. OTel is enabled for both the Web Engine and the MX&A Hub.
  • A new metric has been introduced in this release, with additional metrics planned for future updates:
    • server_client_count (active sessions count)
  • We welcome your feedback on additional metrics of interest.

Improved JavaScript Methods for Host Synchronization

  • Newly implemented promise-based emulator screen methods improve synchronization between JavaScript functions and the host system.
  • The following methods now wait for a host response before execution completes:
    • Field.setValue()
    • Field.setLine()
    • Field.setLines()
    • Field.sendKey()
    • Screen.sendString()
    • Screen.forceString()
    • Screen.sendKey()

 Rocket API

Installation enhancements

Installation workflows have been refined to improve clarity and manageability.

  • Improved usability of the MX & Automation Gateway and Rocket API Engine installations on Windows.
  • Enhanced folder cleanup after uninstalling the Gateway or API Engine.
  • Default instance names for the API Engine and Gateway now reference computer names for easier identification in the Hub.
  • Support for configuring the Gateway metering database via environment variables for Docker containers, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL.

Process Insights

Automatic Cleanup of Track Analysis Data

  • Track analysis data is now automatically cleaned up on a weekly basis.
  • Data from all previous runs, except the most recent one, is removed to optimize database usage.

Improved Recorder Instance Naming

  • The default instance name for Process Insights Recorder installations now includes the computer name, simplifying instance identification within the Hub.

MX & Automation Hub

Observability
