I am moving from Bluezone to Rocket TE and do not have macros in Rocket.  Is there a means to convert my bluezone VBA macros to a script that can be used with Rocket TE?

We are attempting to submit a JCL job to our local enterprise solution server via the ESMAC JES control API and are receiving a response with code 400 and message stating “No Origin of Referer header present.” How do we configure the server to allow access control from all origins?

Is there any documentation on help in converting from Fujitsu COBOL to Visual COBOL?

After installing the Visual COBOL PE, a took a utility program written in Fujitsu COBOL, to see how much of the source would or would not compile. There were few lines of code in the utility program that did not compile and I changed and/or deleted them so as the original source compiled successfully. However, the source included the COPY WINDOWS statement and that is where the majority of the errors occurred when compiled the windows.cpy file! My first thought was that the original source was to blame. I subsequently took the COBOL source template  file that is created when a new project is started. Below is the contents of that file:         identification division.       program-id. Program1.       environment division.       configuration section.       data division.       working-storage section.       COPY WINDOWS. *> pick up Windows defines       procedure division.           goback.       end program Program1. The above code produced the same errors in the windows.cpy file.

We have a client that just installed Accuterm 8.0.1015 on both a Windows 11 23H2 OS and a Windows 11 24H2 OS and it appears they have done so correctly. However, when they open Accuterm the icons below the menu are simply showing up as empty blocks but the tooltips do work. Is this a setting or a compatibility issue. 

I have requested to download Visual COBOL Personal Edition, but I have not received an email or reply to download Visual COBOL Personal Edition. What should I do so that I can download Visual COBOL Personal Edition?

Currently our ACUCOBOL (compiler v.10.3.1) print modules use WIN$PRINT to create PDF files using locally installed PDFCreator (on the user’s Windows machine) and -P SPOOLER.  We are looking for an alternate solution which will enable us to use a PDF printer installed on the Linux server instead.  All the options we’ve explored so far, incl. cupspdf; C$PDF and -P PDF involve extensive code changes or loss of predefined formatting.  Is there a solution available which will allow us to do the conversion with minimal code impact?

In yesterday's webinar we had questions about our planned future telemetry support.   We envision telemetry providing ETX session statistics to a standard on-premise 3rd-party aggregation system. Please reply if you would find telemetry useful. Would OpenTelemetry work with any telemetry system you already have in place?  Let us know what use cases you see, and security concerns you have.

We are running Enterprise Developer 10.0 that accesses a SQL server database from CICS via an ODBC XA Resource.  We are experiencing long standing schema modification locks (LCK_M SCH_M) in SQL Server coming from the Rocket server through MSDTC.  Currently the only way we know to resolve is to stop/start MSDTC on the database server.  Is there any documentation on configuration options (either the Rocket or SQL servers) that we can review to help resolve these locks?

Greetings,I’m quite new on Exceed and I have a question regarding Exceed.It is used on two identical windows machines with identical Exceed configuration (xconfig) to display Scada UI.Windows PC 1 display large nice Fonts on Scada but windows PC 2 has Font size difference, they appear smaller. I was reading about Fonts might be missing and Exceed can use a failsafe Font in order to display a Scada environment. I this true and what can I do to verify that that fonts are used on both Exceed are the same?In the below pictures are the identical on both Win PC Exceed settings.Awaiting your advise. Kind regards,Panagiotis Galanos

Hi there,when I was trying to update my Uniface 10.4 Community Edition installation I was told to reuse the original eMail received with my entitlementID; clicking on same button latest community version should be downloaded. Restarting the installation the upgrade should recognize the already available product and upgrade it. Last time I made that process was to install 10.4.3.021.Now I would like to update my installation to test new features that came out with latest product patches but clicking on original eMail received still 10.4.3.021 is downloaded.Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something in the procedures?Regards,Gianni

I am attempting to pass binary data from AcuCOBOL to a .NET method using a COMSAFEARRAY.  For example, the buffer parameter in the below .NET method:public int addRow(byte[] buffer);I am receiving a COM error when I call this method passing the COMSAFEARRAY.   If I use other data types like “string”, I do not have the error. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to pass data from acuCOBOL as a .NET byte array?

I got a new Windows 11 workstation, and moved my AcuCobol software over and reinstalled it.   It’s been running fine for the past 3 weeks.  But now when I try to compile with ccbl32.exe, I get an error:“D:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Focus\extend 10.4.1\AcuGT\bin\zlib.dll is not designed to run on Windows ….”With the help of Windows COPilot, I tried all sorts of test and security changes, but it still does not work.  Apparently  zlib.dll is on the list of DLLs with known vulnerabilities.Is there updated 10.4.1 that have been properly signed, or do I have to go to Extend 10.5 ? 

Recently went to Window 11 64-bit system on a new computer.I have a program that writes and read Outlook emails, which began giving me errors.I used to executed "C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Focus\extend 10.4.1\AcuGT\bin\wrun32.exe” which was the 32-bit version.   So i switched to  "C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\extend 10.4.1\AcuGT\bin\wrun32.exe” and the problem went away.   YAAAA.So my software uses the old MSCAL.OCX Calendar control.  Well it turns out it’s a 32-bit program, and WILL NOT EXECUTE using the 64-Bit version.    Anyway interesting to note the both in "C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\...” and C:\Program Files (x86)\Micro Focus\….” the runtimes are named WRUN32.    Shouldn’t the one of them be named WRUN64  ?Any thoughts ?? 

Is there a log of phantom processes and pids anywhere?I have a job scheduler that runs as a phantom and executes jobs from a table at certain times.I’m having an issue in my scheduler where it appears to run the same task multiple timeson a random basis (ie some days it is just fine, other days  I will see that same job runs multiple times instead of once).   I haven’t been able to figure it out and I was hoping that there was a log somewhere that I could look atthat showed what processes have been started as phantoms.On Universe 11.3 

Hi,I am new to this forum, our shop uses Rocket TE Mainframe Display v10.2.1. I have a repetitive task I need to perform it for thousands of entries.I have an excel spreadsheet containing a huge number of accounts. I need to do the below steps for all the accounts in that list. Just wanted to check if there is anyway to automate this in Rocket instead of doing this manually for all entries in the excel sheet. Firstly, I log into a CICS region and launch a transaction ABCD. We do not have VBA supported license I believe, however I can bring that list of accounts into a PS FILE in Mainframes, it is just another session I need to switch using PF21 key. Copy the account from spreadsheet/ PS File in the Mainframe ISPF session. PF21 key to switch to CICS session Hit Enter Enter command COM1 Hit Enter Change I to M Hit Tab Enter the account number from the step 1 hit PF5 key Repeat steps 1 through 5 for all the remaining accounts. If the solution uses the ISPF session, then need to press PF8

The book is by Micro Focus, which is the previous owner of Visual COBOL. It references available materials at their website: http://www.microfocus.com/visualcobolbook. The book itself is copyright 2017 by Micro Focus. Following that link results in a 404 (page not found) error. Is there a current website that contains the materials related to the book?Concerning murach’s mainframe COBOL, the book is copyright 2004, Mike Murach and Associates, Inc. It also makes references to Visual COBOL, but given the copyright date, I can see any links provided in that book as being more outdated than the Visual COBOL book. Is there a current website that contains any materials related to that book?

Where and how do I specify the startup transaction for a CICS region when coming in through a TN3270 terminal emulator?  

I filled out the digital form with my email, as you are supposed to do to get the license to use the product. But I have not received a license code via email yet. I was hoping someone here could help me. 

I know this has been around for a while but we are trying to hook this up now… We are on Unidata 8.2. We’ve been told we need Unidata 8.3 to use VS with Rocket. I am looking to validate that information, or hear that someone on 8.2 does have it working.If we can’t use this - is there another full screen editor we can use on the unidata side?Thank you for the information and your time.

In RDi, I have LM(i) filters by user, object, and task#.  In VS Code, all I've managed to find is a list of every task# since the beginning of time.  How do I set up LM(i) filters in VS Code like I have in RDi? Thanks

Hi there, Hope you can help :) We are currently running a (very) old version of jBase 3.4 and are experimenting on a test server to migrate our accounts to jBase 6.2.  Could anyone point me in the direction of some documentation for what we would have to do to upgrade our accounts assuming we have jBase 6.2 installed and working on the new server? Many thanks Mike Lankester
