Anyone ran into the following? And knows a solution?Environment:Uniface 10.4.02.58 on Windows 10 and RedHat 9.4 Linux Character set for I/O ($DEF_CHARSET: - Windows: CP1252 (default) - Linux: LATIN1 (default)Oracle Database 19c, NLS_CHARACTERSET defined as WE8ISO8859P15; this is supposed to be ISO 8859-15 including £ and € GBP pound sign £ stored in a database table or returned in the text of a Stored Package is displayed in Uniface (both Windows GUI and Linux CHUI) as #. Setting $DEF_CHARSET on the client(s) and userver to UTF8 helps, but has a negative side effect on tables with column LONG RAW, such as PRATT. 

visual cobol program - calling a PCO program - animation shows it calls the PCO, and then continues on - but the PCO seems to be doing NOTHING, even tho we put a display as the first line to execute in the the pro cobol pgm ....  where to start looking at what is wrong

We create update STD calendars in December to exclude dates (holidays, etc.) to prevent jobs using the calendar from loading into the schedule.  These are normally updated once per year, however, one of the calendars were updated 2X since 10/2025.  While I don’t think it’s possible, does anyone know if there is function, job, etc., we can run that would show the calendar Holidays prior to 10/2025 for a specific calendar?

Hi.Following our migration from MF Enterprise Developer to Rocket Cobol for VSCode, we are experiencing some Language Server errors in VSCode that do not show up in MF, but we are unable to figure out how to fix them. We assume is probably related to missing or incorrect compiler directives, but we are not sure. This is the actual configuration of Cobol directives in MF: ​​​​​​And this is the configuration of Cobol Default Directives on Rocket Cobol (basically replicating the ones in MF, but including a few extra ones, like assign”external” to fix some COBCH0005 errors)  However, with this configuration, we are seeing some errors, such as COBCH0641 , COBCH0628 or COBCH0002, and  we have no clue how to fix them. Here are some of them: (at least we can see the OUTLINE section seems to be working fine and recognizing Cobol structures) Any idea how to ensure Language Server behaves in the same way as MF ? We are NOT using directives.mf files so far, but direct configuration on the Rocket C

I am converting code from native COBOL to .NET and am looking for suggestions whereby in native COBOL I am using a dictionary that is set as an external item so that it can be referenced by a number of programs (DLL’s) but as this is not supported in .NET so I am trying to figure out a viable alternative.Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello! I’m relatively new to UniVerse and Multi-valued databases, so my experience with BASIC is limited.I was writing a program with subroutine calls that I wanted to abstract via ‘@<var>’. This program had a “create output file data line” subroutine and a “finalize output file” subroutine. When I wrote these local subroutines (explicitly defined, not subroutine labels), I encountered an error where, when calling with ‘@’, only the first locally-defined subroutine would be found; the other subroutine would cause a runtime error, unable to be located. It was not found locally, and so the object database file (.O) was being searched, instead.For example:* ...IS.DONE = @FALSE* Main loopLOOP READNEXT FILE.NAME ELSE IS.DONE = @TRUE ENDUNTIL IS.DONE * ... I have two bp file that both exist in Github: IO.BP and WEBAPPS.BP.  I have a subroutine in WEBAPPS.BP that I am updating in vscode.  It has this include statement “$INCLUDE IO.BP IO.INS”  vscode still shows all the variables using that file as undefined variables.  I have tried adding them to the includeMapping, but it still doesn’t fix it.  Both folders exist in c:\git-workspace\IO.BP and c:\git-workspace\WEBAPPS.BP.  This is for Universe. I also tried adding the folder to the workspace. How can I fix this in vscode?

I’ve got to be missing something simple here: msbuild ACME.cblproj --property:Version=8.0.0.2 --property:FileVersion=8.0.0.2This will build a .NET Core 8.0 COBOL dll and pass in the properties for File Version and Product Version as if it where set on the project properties tab, under Application~Assembly Information.But how does one set Product Name and File Description, setting “Product” on the project property~Application~Assembly Information doesn’t build it into the DLL.I need to pass these properties in via command line, I don’t seem to find any documentation for all the StringFileInfo via msbuild.I require these, I have some.   CompanyName=Company  FileDescription  InternalName  FileVersion =FileVersion            LegalCopyright = Copyright  LegalTrademarks = Trademark  OriginalFilename  ProductName  ProductVersion = VesrionAnyone?Neil

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a LinuxONE machine running RHEL 8, and I’d like to try out Visual COBOL (preferably the trial version) to compile and run COBOL programs directly on this environment.I’ve checked Rocket Software’s website, but I couldn’t find a clear link or step-by-step guide for downloading and installing Rocket Visual COBOL for RHEL 8 on s390x (LinuxONE).Could anyone please share: Where I can download the trial installer for Visual COBOL (s390x version if available), and The installation steps or prerequisites for setting it up on RHEL 8 running on LinuxONE? I have a KSDS VSAM file that has been extracted from mainframe and converted to Enterprise Server 10 using the VRECGEN and Classic Data tools utilities.  Currently the Cobol program that reads this file is compiled under “Enterprise COBOL for z/OS”.  When I run the cobol program using a DD statement in the JCL the file opens and retrieves data.I have a need to be able to dynamically supply the file name inside the Cobol program instead of the JCL and have been experimenting with using “ASSIGN TO DYNAMIC” and compiling the program under the “MicroFocus” dialect.  When I try this method to open the file I get a VSAM return code of 39 indicating that the file definition on the server and the definition in the Cobol program don’t match.  Is this related somehow to the VRECGEN process and is there any way to have the DYNAMIC assignment work?Also, my platform is Windows and IDE is Visual Studio.

Using AccuTerm 8.1.1.1136 we are connecting to a windows 2022 server running OpenSSH server.  Connection works and we can log in but the AccuTerm escape sequences are hit and miss.For example we can issue the escape sequence to run on the caps lock without issue, but when running the escape sequence to turn off the caps lock nothing happens.  The sequences are “ESC:STX:L” for caps lock on and “ESC:STX:M” for caps lock off.I turned on data capture and can see the correct data getting sent for the caps lock on, but either nothing is sent or the wrong sequence is sent for the caps lock off.We can run “ESC:STX:?”, “ESC:STX:I” and get the correct responses.Trying to change the terminal size to 132 or 80 characters, “ESC:STX:E” and “ESC:STX:N” nothing will happen.We have tried running Bitvise instead of the Windows OpenSSH server and had similar results.Changes to terminal type, character set/code, SSH configurations and more have had no changes.While we are connecting to an OAS instance, I

Anyone know why the code below does not compile in the free version of uniface. Hi, We have SSO setup on our iSeries and can use IBM emulators to connect with SSO. While trying to setup Rumba there does not seem to be an option other than a check box under the active security protocols when using the Rumba security service. Is there additional software needed or are there more current instructions other that the 8.0 question that's out there 

When creating a new task or process, we create them in Zena Dev and then import them to Zena Prod. In the new process, the "Select Default Agent" list includes all agents from both Zena Prod and Zena Dev environments. However, when creating a new task in the Zena Dev Web Client, the list only displays agents available in the Zena Dev environment. How can we configure the list to include agents from both Prod and Dev environments?  Thanks.The first picture is the Select Agent list for new Task.  There is no zena-p-agent listed.  The second picture is the Select Agent list for new Process.  It includes zena-p-agent.   

We are currently facing a critical issue with Accuterm 8. Our team has experienced intermittent session drops while actively working, causing the system to lock up. Although the Accuterm 8 sessions close abruptly, the AIX connection still appears active. Has anyone else had this experience? 

When will be Visual Cobol 11.0 PE available for download?by trying to download VC10 is coming….Thanks for answer
