We have a user that is on a Dell Laptop and two different times they have ran the Dell System Update process and Bench (ver 9.2) has started locking up on projects.  When this happens they get a “NOT RESPONDING” error from Windows and have to shut it down bench with task manager.  At times they can reboot the machine and it will work for a bit then start locking up again.  We have reinstalled bench on the machine but that did not fix the issue.  The only solution that worked was getting a new machine for that user but we don't want to do that again since this issue has now appeared on the new laptop also.Has anyone seen this happen after a system updates and if so how did you solve this issue? 

Good evening, I am testing the programmes following the upgrade to Uniface 10.4.3 and am encountering issues when calling a service located in another repository.For example, from application A, I call it using `newinstance "MY_SERVICE", LV_HANDLE` and get error code -58.MY_SERVICE is referenced in the ASN in the [FILES] section as MY_SERVICE.SVC          \\server\qxsrv10\PROJECT\SVC\MY_SERVICE.SVCI can’t find a solution.Has this happened to anyone else? Anna Lisa

I have Visual COBOL + Microsoft Visual Studio on my Windows 11  laptop. I inadvertently deleted the shortcut that I used to launch Visual COBOL+VS. I cannot figure out how to restore the shortcut. Can anyone advise me on how to rebuild the correct shortcut? Thanks

I am attempting to use Online mode of the extension to edit source code from the remote UV server. After connecting to the server, I attempt to expand one of the listed accounts.It processes for a while, and then displays a popup up notification in this format:mvvs:/{server}/{acct}/A.FILE.NAME The ‘A.FILE.NAME’ is a legitimate file in the account, but the file has no DICT level.This file is not a code library.The code libraries in the account are known.How can I configure the extension to not get stuck on this file?How can I configure the extension to ONLY consider the known files?

I have a relational database with a one-to-many table. When reading it in COBOL, I believe it's necessary to read the record key from the main table and the related records from the secondary table; I believe a read should be performed from the main table record key, and the related records from the secondary table would be stored in an "occurs" of that record.The  code  FD :  FD ARCHIVO-NUEVO.01 REG-NUEVO-FISICO.05 Fis-RecNumber PIC 9(6).05 Fis-Nombre PIC X(30).05 Fis-Tabla-Pagos.10 Fis-Nuevo PIC 9(8) OCCURS 100 TIMES. Is correct???Thanks

HelloWe have a strange issue on our VDIs with the Git connectorWe are still struggling to get the installation right. When we try to perform eg a git clone we ar getting a connection problem. We have setup the server using https, everything we do from the VDIthe zmfrest application the ZMF Explorerall works fine, except the git commandsI changed the server back to http and adapted the zowe config json to use http and then the git commands worked fineHowever other colleagues installed GIT_CLI and GitBash and then the git connector commands using https worked fineCan anybody shed some light on this, what am I missing on the pre requisites of the Git connector, hereby some (probably stupid) questionsdoes the Git connector need Git to be installed on the VDI if the ZMF Explorer uses https, why would the Git connector failAny feedback is welcomeBest regardsJohan

Recently we were notified that our systems team is planning to upgrade to z/OS 3.2.  We are currently on ChangeMan ZMF 8.3.  Due to resources we will not have time to upgrade before they plan on upgrading z/OS in August 2026.  I know 8.3 has not been tested and it is recommended to go to 8.3.1 but I am curious has anyone taken the chance and upgraded z/OS to 3.2 while still on 8.3?  If so, have you encountered any issues?

We're experimenting with JavaScript in MX Web 10.6.1 to see if we can eventually replace some of our Rocket script. A simple test case right now is prompting a field on a screen, collecting the code/description records from the subfile on the popup window that the prompt triggers, and using that data to populate a dropdown widget. That's really easy to do with Rocket script, and I use "PanelUpdateEnable(0)" to suppress panel updates so the whole process happens transparently to users. The mechanics of this are easy enough with the client-side JavaScript library, but I can't find a way to use JavaScript to suppress display of the popup window while this is running. Is there a way to do this? Rocket script and JavaScript don't seem to interact smoothly, so I'd rather not jump back and forth between them within a single process. I opened a support ticket for this question as well but am posting here in case anyone else has encountered this situation or has any tips or tricks to share.

We are in the process of upgrading from Unidata 8.2.4 to 8.3.2.  While the OpenSSL bundled with Unidata has upgraded from v1 to v3 as part of this upgrade, the OpenSSL 3 is still showing vulnerabilities as part  of our vulnerability scanningOur security team are asking if its possible for Unidata to use the version of OpenSSL thats installed as part of the Red Hat Linux and kept up to date via patching.Is this possible?  Is it a god/bad idea?  Is there a clear process for doing this?

Hi FreaksWe have an archive system (not written with Uniface) consisting of a server and clients. The server and clients communicate via HTTPS. The server also allows a third-party system (in this case, a Uniface application) to communicate with it via HTTPS/REST.That works so far.Now I have some very large files that I want to download from the server. When I use the archive client, a PDF file over 400 MB in size appears in seconds.But when I try to download the file in Uniface, it takes over twenty minutes!What is slowing Uniface down so much here? (It can’t be the server, the HTTP interface, or the network.)Does anyone have any idea which parameters I need to pass to DUMP_FILE_CONTENTS so that it also downloads in seconds here?TIAIngo

To show records of a vision file we use paged-grids and the majority of our users are fine with that.There is one customer (and unfortunately our most important one) who wants a “standard scrollbar”.The answer that this is only doable when we know how many records are 100% does not convince him and he does not let it go.So we thought of a lazy-loading scenario.We load and show the first 100 records and when he drags the grid thumb all the way down to the end of the grid we try to load more records.The problem is that the grid does not give an event when reaching the last record.Does anyone have an idea how to solve this ?Or do you have a totally different approach ?

After a few "small" tests, I figured out that this loop isn't necessary at all; even with "chunked" mode, a single call to SEND(GET) and DUMP_FILE_CONTENTS is sufficient.In what scenario is the example from the UnifAce documentation supposed to apply?

I’ve been using VC11 for Eclipse (Windows) for a couple of months now, and this seemly random highlighting of this is really getting on my nerves.  The image below shows a “simple” example.  It is often much worse.Here I just put my cursor on the top left and then cursored down some lines.  When my cursor reached line 14 the entire line, plus the first 3 characters of line 15, were suddenly highlighted for seemingly no reason.  Cursoring down again it removed highlight from 14 and highlights 15.  Other examples seem to be even more random.  Is this a known issue or what?  Anything I can do?  The only way to unhighlight is to open the Find box (Cntl-F) and then hit escape.
