We were testing some new MVIS functionality, and received the follow error in the log file on some of the transactions:     “The user limit has been reached on the server”We are assuming that this has to do with U2 licenses on the test server, not an MVIS issue. Can someone confirm?

Hi allIs it possible to save a file (fx .pdf, .docx) in a vision file?Currently I copy the file to the server and creates a record in a vision file with the original file name and server file name. So, when the user need the file, I can copy the server file to the client PC.It would be easier to maintain, if I can save the file in the vision file and extract it when the user needs it,Regards Kim

I’m issuing the ESC STX ? command in two different places and am getting some results that don’t seem to be documented in the Accuterm user manual.  When I issue it from Accuterm on my PC I get the character “$” in the capabilities string that isn’t defined in the manual.  When I issue it from a webpage using Accuterm IO, I get 30 for a platform and 11 for a product.  Is there some newer documentation that I”m not aware of?

HiSBClient SBXA 6.6.2. Character mode, not GUI. We have our own menu file (CSMENUS) where we /MD to create menus with processes & programs as the menu options.For each menu option listed within the menu, I would like to add some F1 help text for the user to see when using the menu & prtessing F1 on each option.But I cannot figure out anywhere to input this or if it is possible. When pressing F1 on a menu option within a menu now I get [{MENUNAME}.REM,{POSITION}] NO HELP MESSAGE AVAILABLE.Is it possible to get to this & enter some help text?Full example:Menu file CSMENUSMenu name GE (General enquiry)/MD SetupMessage when using menu & pressing F1 currently.  I’ve searched the forum & documentation but can’t find anything.ThanksJack

When using MV BASIC in Online mode I have not been able to open multiple programs into separate tabs.This is a reasonably basic capability to have to support coder productivity.Is it meant to be possible?If so, is there a setting which controls it?

Hello Rocket Community,We are migrating CICS applications from z/OS to Rocket Enterprise Server and have a custom security solution implemented in assembler that performs user authentication, authorization checks, and application sign-on processing through RACF.Our approach has been to convert the assembler modules to COBOL, preserve the existing application sign-on flow, and replace the RACF dependency with Rocket Enterprise Server ESM integrated with AD/AD LDS.Has anyone implemented a similar approach?Specifically, we're interested in:Preserving existing EXEC CICS SIGNON or related security calls. Minimizing application changes while maintaining existing authorization behavior. Hello-my company is migrating from IBM ZOS to Rocket in October.  We are struggling to obtain documentation / sop for how to perform day-to-day app-support and general monitoring of jobs/files.  Does anyone know of a forum or other site where we can ask our “stupid” questions?  Really - we need to dumb it down for us.  Example - A job executes in production, I found how to look at the catalog to view files. Is there a way to use the formatting - copylibs to map data?  If not, what is the process to do that (is it copy file to a test server and use enterprise-developer at that point?)  These are the types of SOP questions we have that the Rocket development team is not answering or helping with. We do most of our day-to-day work using production data / production job and need look at the most recent data.  Our “passes” execute 12 times a day, so finding the correct execution and correct generation of a file is paramount.  

Hi There,We are looking for migrating a IBM Mainframe application to cloud and considering conversion to Rocket visual cobol. The application is a batch application consisting Cobol, JCL, DB2, VSAM, Flat and Tape files. The JCL would need to be converted to shell, VSAM to ISAM, files to Linux standard files and Db2 to Postgres. Can you please share the basic architecture and solution framework for Rocket Visual Cobol migration. I am trying to upgrade from Micro Focus Enterprise Developer 10 for Visual Studio 2002 (patch 16) to Rocket Enterprise Developer 11 for Visual Studio 2022 (patch 7).  The documentation implies that an upgrade can be performed.  When I try and upgrade, setup fails saying that version 10 needs to be uninstalled.  When I uninstall version 10 and then install version 11, the directory server won’t start, complaining about the location of the vsam_esm.  It appears to be looking in a “\Micro Focus” folder that no longer exists.  I can’t not determine where to go to change the location to point to the “\Rocket Software\” folder location.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’m attempting to install the UniVerse Personal Edition version 14.1.1 on MacOS Tahoe 26.1 on an M1 Macbook. I’m following Rocket’s official PDF (see attachment) on how to do this via a Docker container and using the supporting files from their Github: RocketSoftware/multivalue-containers Because I’m on Apple Silicon, I adjusted the Dockerfile as follows:Replaced the original FROM to force AMD64 emulation since I’m on ARM:FROM --platform=linux/amd64 rockylinux/rockylinux:latestI also added this to fix a permission error that occurs.RUN chmod +x /usr/local/bin/*uv.sh Now, I consistently hit a segmentation fault in the installer during the init_uvsm step. Just lost my wintegrate session setup and trying to recreate it - for function key mapping, when I want to set a function key to a text like ‘hello’ with a return at the end - what char(s) do the return? I thought it was ^m but thats not working… I’m on V6.4.3Thanks!

Upgrading tomcat for using Rest/Event Service v8.3.2.We have been able to upgrade to tomcat version 11.0.25.  However, the tomcat server manager web page is displayed as binary (non-readable).Has anyone successfully upraded tomcat?

Hello Rocket Software Community / zoss-appdev Maintainers,I am currently utilizing the gzip utility from the zoss-appdev conda channel on z/OS. I noticed that the current version hosted on the channel is 1.13, which hasn't been updated in quite some time, whereas standard channels like conda-forge have moved forward to 1.14 and beyond.Could the development team look into updating the gzip feedstock for z/OS to version 1.14 or the latest stable upstream version? We would highly appreciate having access to the latest bug fixes and improvements while maintaining compatibility with z/OS hardware features (like zEDC).Thank you for your continued support of open-source tools on the mainframe!

Is the use and setting of the FCD information different between native COBOL and NET COBOL?My reason for asking is that I have taken the code from our native application straight across into a NET COBOL equivalent and I am finding that setting the address for the file name and key block is not being taken across to our external filehandler correctly.
