Hello, I was not able to figure out the issue , when im trying to integrate microfocus dlls and COBOL files to webapi c#  endpoint call. The below exception is throwing when executing cobol business logic.It's not working in webapi/wcf calls.It's executed only in winforms application.Could you please do help on this issue.Are these cobol dll integration work in web development?

 I am trying to get free access to enterprise COBOL to try it out (it's features like flowchart, program control flow, etc.). I applied for it and got license but I am not able to install it (it downloads a no-readme file). Can someone help me with it? I have a Mac and if Enterpris COBOL can't be installed in it, is it possible to get Azure cloud access or something where I can use a browser to try out its features.I am really interested in Visual COBOL and COBOL analyzer products and am looking for a long term collaboration with MicroFocus but want to give out initial trials to actually try out the contents of the YouTube training videos.

Hi, we have moved the product cobol analyzer from a windows server to another. is it possible move the license from one to other. ? We have revoke the license inthe old server but when we try introduce it in the new we get an error.   If this is not possible, how can we obtain a correct license?

Can anyone let me know if there are any security issues in the version 9.2.5 due to which i should consider upgrading AcuCobol version 9.2.5 to the latest ? Hello, I try to use this criterion to find all fields used in SQL statements, but it does not work very well for me. here are the results as you can see the field named "sql-salidaendpoint" and used in a SELECT is in the results but the other filed named "sql-num-dias" which is also used in another SELECT is not in the results Why the fileds "sql-num-dias" does not appears in the results?#CobolAnalyzer#cobolanalyzer

Hi, in version 4.0 of CA constructor types are in a list and the documentation related to an option appears when the option is selected But in version 8.0 this documentacion don´t appears because constructor types are in a combo. How can we see this documentacion or help now?

Hi, we have update from CA 4 to CA 8 and and we have a problem that in version 4 don´t happens We works with BRP and verification process stops once the verifications are finished,but the process don´t dead.  If we execute the  PowerShell script on cmd, the same thing happens, we must click "Close" on the Queue Processor window to continue. We need that process dead completly when we wors in BRP. We have another question, Why don´t  we see this options? 1. Click Options > Workspace Options. 2. Click Verification > Parallel Verification tab. 3. Select either    • Run Parallel Verification in the online tool    • Run Parallel Verification in BRP 4. Adjust the Minimum Queue Processors to improve performance when using an optimized number of CPU cores.

Hello, we are working with version 4.0 of CA and we want to update to version 8.0 of CA:1 - Is it possible to do it without installing the previous versions? 2 - Would it be necessary to completely uninstall the product and install it again with the correct version?

Within CA (Cobol Analyzer) Web it is possible to see the source code that has been loaded into a workspace. Is it possible restrict access to CA Web so that a user needs to be authenticated before using CA Web? It is possible to do this by enabling security with TomCat Web server and it will authenticate the user before allowing the user access to CA Web. I have to reinstall Visual Cobol for Eclipse in other computer because i have some trouble with the requerimients. So when i reinstall on my others PC i couldn´t insert my autorization code because i think that the code is asociate to my first installation.

In certain situations, CA (Cobol Analyzer) will fail and produce an error message. As directed by the Micro Focus team, more information about the error may be required and this may require CA logging be enabled. I hope I'm in a good sub for this... I'm trying to find a static code analyzer for visual cobol that can scan against PCI security regulations. Has anyone run into this? The best option I've found so far would be Yasca, but I would have to define my own rule-set and I just don't know enough about cobol or PCI to do that. https://nox.tips/

As often happens with Cobol systems, we have developers with only a few years of experience working on a codebase almost as old as they are. They are developing with Microfocus NetExpress and there's little desire to switch IDEs, although Eclipse might be an option. I'm keen to introduce automated unit testing to grow and expand the legacy code coverage, reduce risks after changes and shorten the feedback loop after commits. I know the options are limited, and some are simpler to adopt than others. Is anyone using Microfocus NetExpress to develop Cobol doing any automated unit testing? If so, what tools are you using? Hello All, I'm working on a new project with Micro Focus Cobol! Here is what I have: TWOS is a Time and Work Order Management System developed by Ford. It is written in Micro Focus Cobol and runs on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 SP4. This is what I need: 1. Upgrade the OS to SLES 15 SP1 2. Upgrade the application to the latest version of Micro Focus Cobol 3. Migrate the application from 32 bit to 64 bit This is what I know: Micro Focus 1. Visual COBOL installs fully only on 64-bit Windows platforms. On 32-bit Windows, the setup file does not install some of the components. Visual COBOL enables you to produce both 64-bit and 32-bit applications on 64-bit operating systems. 2. As 64-bit architecture is becoming increasingly prevalent, the consideration of moving towards producing 64-bit applications is also increasing.
