Now available | Rocket iCluster 9.4.0 Release Announcement

The Rocket Software team is pleased to announce that the new version 9.4.0 of Rocket® iCluster is now available. Rocket iCluster high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) software solutions ensure uninterrupted operation for your IBM i applications, providing continuous access by monitoring, identifying, and self-correcting replication problems. Rocket® iCluster 9.4.0 adds more features to the user-friendly Web UI, improves the performance of the iCluster core and adds support for IBM i 7.6. Rocket® iCluster Web UsabilityThe following new features and improvements were added the Web UI for increased usability: End-to-End Group ManagementThe web UI now supports complete group management, allowing users to create, modify, and delete groups directly from the interface. Object specifiers can be added easily using the integrated object browser for native, IFS, and SQL objects. Additionally, bulk operations such as group deletion and event log clearing are available, streamlining administrative tasks. Sync Check Commands on WebSync check operations have been fully migrated to the web interface, allowing users to start, end, purge, and activate checks with just a few clicks. A redesigned, intuitive UI now makes it easy to configure sync check attributes at both cluster and group levels, delivering greater flexibility and control without leaving the browser Redesigned Monitor UIThe redesigned interface offers a more intuitive layout, providing quick access to essential actions such as starting or stopping groups, activating objects, and performing sync check operations. This streamlined design enhances usability and reduces the number of clicks required for common tasks Deployment Rocky Linux supportWith iCluster Web 9.4.0, we’re expanding platform support—Rocky Linux 9.3 is now officially supported, delivering greater flexibility and reliability for your environment Rocket® iCluster Core / Green Screen Performance and ReliabilityThe following new features and improvements have been implemented for increased performance and improved reliability: Smart RefreshA new *SMART option has been introduced to determine the optimal refresh strategy based on the number of differences between the source and target file. Depending on the file’s state, Smart Refresh will either use *RBR or transfer only the changed records, improving refresh speed by approximately 35–55% for large files. Priority AuditA new feature lets you run sync checks only on objects that have changed within a selected timeframe—such as the last 24 hours—dramatically reducing the time required for daily checks and improving overall efficiency. Usability Improved Sync Check SchedulerThe enhanced scheduler now offers flexible options, including half-hour, hourly, weekly, and monthly intervals. It integrates seamlessly with Priority Audit and provides simple controls to enable or disable schedules and view results directly from the interface—making sync check management easier than ever. Activate OOS object by sizeObjects that are out of sync can now be activated in ascending order of size, starting with the smallest. This enhancement gives administrators greater control and efficiency when handling bulk activations. Proactive license and grace‑period messagingThe system now provides proactive alerts for upcoming license expirations and grace period status. These notifications help administrators take timely action to avoid service interruptions and maintain compliance. Security MFA profile replication support for IBM i V7R6iCluster now supports MFA replication, ensuring security settings remain consistent across environments. MFA-related user profile attributes, including TOTP keys, are replicated between source and target systems and included in sync checks for complete integrity. Quality and Reliability Clear Job Scheduler EntriesThe DMAPLYJSE command now includes an option to clear previous job scheduler entries before applying new ones. This enhancement simplifies disaster recovery processes and sets the stage for future backup and restore capabilities for job schedules. Object Counts ReportIntroducing the new DSPGRPPLF command, which identifies logical file dependencies across groups and libraries. This enhancement ensures that all related logical files are included in replication, reducing risk, and improving data consistency. Staging ASP storage validationTo prevent configuration errors, the system now blocks staging store sizes that exceed available ASP space and provides real-time warnings on both primary and backup nodes. This enhancement ensures optimal resource allocation and improves system reliability. Product Lifecycle Updates We’ve updated the Product Lifecycle for Rocket iCluster on docs.rocketsoftware.com under the latest versions of each product. This helps customers plan upgrades confidently, knowing they’ll receive long-term support and access to the latest innovations.  Detailed release notes can be found here Rocket® iCluster release notes. Rocket® UniVerse 14.2.1 Is Here: Built for Performance, Trusted for Stability

UniVerse 14.2.1 Release Announcement The Rocket MV team is pleased to announce the release of Rocket ® UniVerse 14.2.1 on 5th November 2025.Rocket® UniVerse 14.2.1 builds on a proven foundation to deliver even greater resilience, flexibility, and modernization. With enhanced high availability and disaster recovery features, this release ensures your business stays online and agile—no matter what. Built for Resilience: Uptime You Can Count OnProtect your system with the Shared Structure Recovery Framework RFSThe enhanced Recoverable File System (RFS) in UniVerse 14.2.1 gives you full control; configure it your way to align with your unique environment. Toggle RFS on or off using the RFS_MODE uvconfig parameter.Secure your most critical files with Protected File ConfigurationOnce RFS_MODE is enabled, use a dedicated configuration file to define which files to protect, giving you more control over data protection. When RFS is enabled and files are marked as protected, it prevents corruption during unexpected failures, ensuring high availability. Ensure Index Consistency and SynchronizationMaintaining index integrity is key to performance and reliability. UniVerse 14.2.1 introduces index awareness improvements that enable real-time index updates. Now when you make index file changes, they are automatically recognized by users who already have the data file open. Use the new VERIFY.INDEX TCL command to verify data and index synchronization—an essential step in high-availability environments to ensure fast and accurate data access. New BASIC Extensions Enhance Application DevelopmentStreamlining Error HandlingSimplify error processing in your application with the new try/catch mechanism:Integrates with modern programming languages. Helps developers proactively anticipate and handle potential errors Improves the stability and reliability of your applications.Native JSON SupportEffortlessly handle JSON data using Dynamic Objects. This approach simplifies parsing and accessing data, enhances interoperability, accelerates development, and facilitates easier integration with APIs and external services. Robust Recovery Tools Keep Your Application ResilientFile Level Command Recovery When a file-level command (like CREATE.FILE) terminates prematurely, the uvcleanupd daemon now automatically completes the operation or rolls it back—ensuring data files stay in a consistent state.Partial Write RecoveryConfigurable when RFS is switched ON, this new feature protects against data corruption when a record update involving multiple file blocks is terminated before completion. Now if a session ends abruptly, uvcleanupd restores the original data file blocks. It also ensures index consistency. If a process terminates after the data file has been completely updated but before the indexes have been updated, the recovery process updates the index files to maintain the integrity of the data file with the index files.More Upgrades for Performance, Security, and CompliancePython 3.13 Upgrade – Get access to the latest performance enhancements and modern capabilities.
