Visual Studio 2026 and Visual COBOL support

Visual Studio 2026 is supported in Visual COBOL 11.0 with patch update 5 or later. See

I guess I should have stated that I’m using VS Community edition and VC Personal Edition - so maybe the above is not applicable.

We have updated the Visual COBOL PE download to include both installers, one for Visual Studio 2022 and one for Visual Studio 2026. You will have to download the latest PE version and run the correct installer.

Just to be sure Chris. If I want to use VS2026 I must delete my current VC2022 and reinstal using vcvs2026_110.exe - correct?

Hi Paul, yes, please uninstall the current Visual COBOL for Visual Studio 2022 that you have installed and then use the new vcvs2026_110.exe installer to install into Visual Studio 2026.

You dont need to uninstall Visual Studio 2022 itself as both VS2022 and VS2026 can coexist.
