Product Lifecycle Now Published

The official Product Lifecycle for Rocket API and Rocket Modern Experience is now published on docs.rocketsoftware.com under each product's latest version. Customers can plan upgrade roadmaps with clear visibility into long-term support windows and access to ongoing innovation.

Highlights of Version 10.6.3:

General Enhancements

Stronger Security and Compliance Posture

To help you stay aligned with current security standards and reduce exposure to known vulnerabilities, key components have been upgraded across products:

  • Apache Tomcat upgraded to 10.1.54
  • Spring Framework upgraded to 6.12.15
  • OpenSSL upgraded to 3.6.2

Rocket Modern Experience

Deeper observability with OpenTelemetry

  • MX Web now exposes metrics for the web engine and web servlet on Linux/UNIX and Windows, session-level traces on the web servlet, and memory and CPU metrics for the web engine — giving operations teams the telemetry they need to monitor performance and troubleshoot faster.

SystemBuilder SB/XA Modernization:

  • Rocket MX now enables rapid modernization of SystemBuilder SB/XA applications — import screen application metadata to run automated SmartBuild and generate a modern web application directly from green screens. This shortens modernization timelines significantly and lowers the cost of bringing legacy SB/XA workloads to modern web interfaces, without rewriting business logic.
  • The import dialog now supports importing multiple MV SB/XA JSON files (the green screen metadata exported from SB/XA), with range selection via Shift+Click or Shift+Up/Down arrow — speeding up onboarding of sizeable legacy application portfolios.

Enhanced default MV project template

  • The VT MV Material Design template now ships with ready-to-use functional templates, scripts, screens, and pages for MultiValue-connected projects — shortening time-to-first-build.

MV Native Query improvements

  • Query.numRecords() now returns the total number of rows returned, and MVNQ data examples now use structures for cleaner, easier integration.

Configurable JavaScript abort timeouts

  • Engine-side JavaScript makes it simpler to set abort signal timers for predictable execution behaviour. Refer to the technical documentation for syntax.

Rocket API

New IFS connector

  • Read from and write to Integrated File System (IFS) files on IBM i, unlocking a broader range of host-side automation scenarios without custom workarounds.

Full request body mapping

  • The entire HTTP request body can now be mapped to an argument in an API engine microflow — simplifying designs for modern JSON-heavy APIs.

Process Insights

More resilient Discovery Recorder

  • If the Discovery Recorder fails for any reason, the user's proxy connection to the host system remains active and end users are not disconnected — minimizing disruption during recording sessions.

MX & Automation Hub

User Experience Improvements

  • Streamlined license management: The Licenses page has been redesigned to make component license oversight clearer and faster.
  • Smoother deployments: Deploying packages and web applications from the Hub is now more reliable and easier to operate day-to-day.

MX & Automation Workbench

AI assistance built into the developer's Workbench

  • Developers can now install the Co-pilot plugin into Workbench Eclipse directly from the marketplace, bringing AI assistance for everyday coding and QA tasks into the IDE they already use.
  • By augmenting existing developer workflows — without requiring new toolchains or disrupting established review practices — teams can reduce repetitive effort and accelerate modernization projects with faster, more consistent execution.
