Hello users of our z/OS open-source ports,
I am pleased to announce the release of Rocket Open AppDev for Z v2.0.5. This release includes version currency updates of Git, cURL, Vim, , as well as a long list of security fixes and other fixes for most of our ports. For customers on support contract, these latest builds are already available via conda and SMP/E installer will be available in a couple of days. For users not on support, these builds will be made available on our public conda channel server on December 30th, 2023.
Version currency updates:
- Git 2.41.0 This is a version update along with improvements for multi-platform collaboration.
- cURL 8.1.2
- Vim 9.0.1575
CVEs published against earlier versions and resolved by V2.0.4:
- OpenSSL 3.1.0 CVE-2023-2650 fix
- Perl 5.32.1 CVE-2023-31486 fix
- Unzip 6.0 CVE-2021-4217, CVE-2022-0529, CVE-2022-0530 fixes
Bug fixes:
- Bash 5.2 Enabled .bashrc sourcing in non-interactive mode. Fixed an encoding problem when a script cannot be run remotely in non-login and non-interactive mode. Minor patches from community.
- Make 4.4.1 Enabled autodetection for the EBCDIC files with binary tag.
- Sudo 1.9.13p3 Fixed a bug on systems without ROOT user.
