  • 1.  No permission to escape to shell

    I am running Unidata 8.1.2. In one of my accounts if I try to get down to unix or use sftp or scp I get the following message

    :!su
    No permission to escape to shell

    This used to work everywhere one the server and now it is only in this account that it happens and I am not sure why.  Any thoughts on what I can check?

    L Iveblues,

    Windows or UNIX (and version) ? also - if you use LOGTO from an account where it works to an account where it does not - and vice versa - any change in behaviour?

    If UNIX I'd look at shell escape and also ACLs

    Regards

    Sorry, it's Centos 7.9.  Whether I initially log into that account, or do a logto, it behaves the same way.

    @L Iveblues

    It appears that someone has implemented the restricted shell on Linux, I would suggest contacting your systems admininstrator and asking it be removed for you.
