Hi freaks
I'm just testting the UnifAce/DLM license server and struggled at two points
1) Start of the license servers services
You need an administrator account to start the service, that's easy
But even when you loged in as administrator, this could fail.
On windows server 20216, the services got installed and started without any problem
On windows server 2012, the services could not installed/started
Only when I start the DLM-manager explicit with administrator rights (run as admistrator), the service starts up
2) Start of redundant policy
Installing two license servers on two windows servers (one is the fallback of the other)
Then modify $LICENSE_OPTIONS=LM_LICENSE_FILE=7188@host1;7188@host2
Now I did try to start UNIFACE.EXE on one of this servers:
Nope: "Redundant policy not yet established" (or something similar)
Oops, both servers are working, ports are correct and UNIFACE.EXE recognized them.
What's wrong?
I don't know, but then I try to start UNIFACE.EXE on a workstation:
Voila, our application starts.
And after this, also a UnifAce session on the windows starts up.
It seems to me, that the license servers need a kick into the a.. from outside to recognize each other 🙂
