! MS Update KB3198483 and Uniface Anywhere compatibility November 2016

Windows Update KB3198483 which Microsoft released on November 08, 2016, is incompatible with the following operating systems: Windows Vista 32-bit Windows Server 2008 32-bit and with Uniface JTi / Anywhere Version 4.8.2 ONLY! With this Windows update installed it will cause the server to cycle with a blue screen of death. If it is installed, you can work around the incompatibility by booting the server in safe mode then uninstall KB3198483. After which the server will boot fine. If you run with this configuration, please create a Support Request by sending an email to Uniface.Support@Uniface.com with subject: 'MS Update KB3168965 incompatibility'. A fix for this incompatibility is available for download from the following location: https://download.uniface.com/downloads/UnifaceAnywhere/v4/KB3198483/ for Uniface Anywhere Version 4.8.2. For 32-bit UA v4.8.2.22382 Host environments download and install V4x86UAHost-KB3198483-C06.exe For installation instructions, supported host platforms and for which Uniface Anywhere version builds this patch is applicable, see the corresponding readme files (V4x86UAHost-KB3198483-C06.txt) available in the appropriate download directory. Customers who run a 32-bit Host environment, are advised to upgrade to a supported 64-bit host environment with the latest supported Uniface Anywhere Host version. This announcement is only applicable on 32-bit x86 Uniface JTi and Uniface Anywhere Host environments. Future compatibility patches for Uniface JTi and Uniface Anywhere Host versions on 32-bit (x86) Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, will from now on, only be handled on individual request until support for 32-bit HOST environments is completely stopped. If you have a necessity for a compatibility patch on 32-bit Hosts after the above mentioned C06 patch, please create a Support Request by sending an email to Uniface.Support@Uniface.com with subject: ‘MS Update UA x86 Compatibility request’.
