Hi! we are currently using an old version of Changeman DS in our office (version 5.7.1)

In windows xp, we can run ant and download files from changeman ds but using windows 7, we can't... it's searching for the cmxfer.exe which the windows 7 version of changeman ds doesn't have.

any ideas??

Hi Rachel,

There is no separate installer for Windows 7 or older versions of Windows for Changeman DS, however we have only verified Changeman DS version 5.7.2 against Windows 7 so your version 5.7.1 has never been tested against this version of Windows!

Saying that as there is no different installer for Windows 7 the CLI tools (including cmnxfer.exe) should be installed as they are on older version of Windows.

If this is not the case please raise a support case and we will look into it.

Hi,

You are mentioning "cmxfer.exe", which should be really "cmnxfer.exe", so either a typo or reason why script can't find it.

Make sure that a folder with "cmnxfer.exe" is specified among others in the environment variable PATH, so the script can 'see' it.

If I remember right - you may just copy installed Client binaries from XP if this Win7 machine is used just for running cmnxfer, not to act as area agent (which requires service running).

it's a typo, actually... :)

we tried copying the files from the XP installation to windows 7 and we got the error

" creation was not successful for an unknown reason"

Well, from changeman ds, the files should be transferred to our local folders. the folder is already shared to the point where changeman ds has rights to insert files to the folder in our c: drive.

i guess that ant or changeman ds is unable to write the files to the folder. it's just a guess... but I may be wrong
