Rocket® ContentEdge™

As a follow-up to Dan Lam’s post in July entitled, “ContentEdge (formerly Mobius) – New Release...”, we wish to advise that Mobius 12.6.2 is now available. ----------------------Customers planning an upgrade to a current version of Mobius should note that the Apache Tomcat version used by Mobius components has been updated to address a security vulnerability. Starting with version 12.6.2, the embedded Apache Tomcat instance that’s included with Mobius Server has been upgraded to Apache Tomcat 11.0.25 to remediate a security vulnerability affecting the previously shipped Tomcat version. Customers who deploy Mobius View/Rocket Content Explorer to their own Apache Tomcat environment must also upgrade their Apache Tomcat installation to version 11.0.25 before deploying this release. Deployments on earlier Tomcat versions might remain exposed to the security vulnerability addressed by this update. Note: This requirement applies only to customer-managed Tomcat environments hosting Mobius Vie

We’re excited to share that Rocket Software has been recognized as an Accelerator in the 2026 Nucleus Research Content Services and Collaboration (CSC) Technology Value Matrix. For ContentEdge customers, this recognition reflects the broader reality we're observing across organizations today: enterprises are under increasing pressure to modernize how content is managed, accessed, governed, and put to work—while still maintaining the systems, processes, and compliance requirements on which their businesses depend. Organizations are looking for ways to eliminate information silos, improve access to critical content, automate manual processes, and unlock new value from enterprise information using AI. At the same time, they must balance modernization initiatives with security, governance, and regulatory obligations. ContentEdge addresses these challenges by enabling organizations to:Modernize content management across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments Strengthen governance, secu

Prior to starting your upgrade, Rocket strongly suggests a review of the following resources:Release Notes: Rocket’s Release Notes contain details on new items introduced in each version, as well as sections for “what’s changed” and known issues/workarounds. Earlier in my career, I had the privilege of serving as a lead ContentEdge* administrator for a Rocket customer. One of the highlights of that role was attending in‑person Mobius User Group (MUG) meetings. These gatherings were more than just meetings - they were vibrant hubs of knowledge sharing, problem‑solving, and community building. What made MUGs so impactful for me was the opportunity to hear directly from other customers about their unique journeys. Learning how they tackled challenges, leveraged the platform to its fullest potential, and collaborated with Rocket for support provided invaluable insights that I brought back to my own organization. The sneak peeks into the roadmap and upcoming features were always a source of excitement and inspiration.Beyond the knowledge, what truly stood out was the sense of community. Even though MUGs are no longer held today, the spirit behind them - connection, collaboration, and shared learning - remains just as relevant. MUGs reminded us th

This Advisory is in regard to potential impacts of Antivirus scanning solutions on the performance of your Mobius installation. Although it is important to scan the files on your Mobius servers to protect your data, virus scans can interfere with the normal workings and performance of the Mobius solutions. Due to this potential performance impact, it is recommended that you exclude the following directories and associated subdirectories from your virus scan:Mobius installation directory Mobius configuration directory On Windows, this is usually a path similar to: c:\ProgramData\ASG\VDRNET\12.5.0\ Directories to which logs are written, if other than the configuration directory Any directories from which report input files are read during archive creation Any directories to which archives (DAF files) are written For DocumentDirect for the Internet, Mobius View, and/or Rocket Content Explorer, consider excluding Tomcat (or another supported Web Application Server)Note: This guidance ap

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!Have you heard about some of the great new functionality available to you in the Mobius 12.5 release? (smart chat)I’d love to hear from folks on older versions. Which versions are you running?  What are your biggest challenges to upgrading?I used Document Direct for years and thought the move to a web version (Mobius View) would be painful, but honestly, it wasn't that bad, and I saw end-users adopt new features like favorites and indexing really quickly.

To our Valued Customers: We wish to inform you of an issue identified in our legacy Mobius viewing clients, DocumentDirect for the Internet (all versions), Mobius Luminist (all versions), or Mobius View versions 8.x or 9.x. As previously communicated, these products have not been supported since January 1, 2020. If you are still using these products, they are considered unsupported software. These software packages were last updated between 2018 and 2021. All versions noted above may be impacted by the issue described in this notice. Continued use of unsupported software is strongly discouraged.Rocket has recently become aware of a situation in which, under extremely high system load (such as when timeout, server busy, or other volume-related errors occur), content requested by one user may inadvertently be returned to a different user, resulting in unintended data exposure. This exposure is entirely random and cannot be intentionally triggered. To address this risk, Rocket strongly reco

In October, I had the pleasure of hosting the “From Chaos to Clarity” webinar, where we explored how Rocket’s legal team revolutionized its contract management process. The session featured Alisa De Dominicis, Senior Director of Legal Operations, who shared her firsthand experience tackling a massive document review challenge following a major acquisition. Faced with reviewing over a million documents—including 20,000 legal agreements—within a tight six-to-eight-month deadline, her team was looking at what would have manually taken nearly 42 years of work. The team leveraged Rocket Software's own technologies including Rocket Mobius, Rocket Content Smart Chat and Enterprise Orchestrator to tackle this challenge. This approach not only met the deadline but also won Rocket’s legal team an industry award for innovation. For me, the key takeaways were clear and compelling:AI-driven extraction is a game-changer for efficiency. By using "smart extraction," the system automatically pulls key m

I’m trying to find out what is required to implement Mobius View.  We currently use Document Direct.  Is a server required to use Mobius View?  If so, is that Mobius Server or is Mobius Server another “product”?  Not sure if they’re related.
