As a follow-up to our “Planning your next Mobius upgrade? Here are a few helpful hints…” post in June 2026, we have a few updates to share:

Official Out of Support Statement for Mobius 12.0-12.4.x

Please be advised that support for Mobius 12.0-12.4 (versions 12.0, 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4.x) will conclude on 28 February 2028. As of that date, Rocket will no longer provide service builds and/or other fixes for security-related issues for these versions.

Rocket’s Product Support Lifecycle Statement is publicly available via the following link: Product Support Lifecycle Statement.

As you plan your upgrade path: If you need additional time to complete your upgrade, please contact your Rocket Account Executive to request an Extended Support Letter.

Important Reasons to upgrade from version 12.4.x (or earlier):

Mobius 12.4.x and earlier are built on Java 8; Java 8 now carries increased security, compliance, and supportability risks. Because public support for Java 8 and many related libraries, drivers, and components has largely ended, some vulnerabilities and dependency issues cannot be fully resolved without upgrading to a newer Mobius version built on a modern Java foundation.

Great News: Mobius 12.6.1 is Available!

Mobius 12.6.1 was released in July 2026. Version 12.6.1 supports use of Java 17 and Java 21.

Important Upgrade and Security Notice

Rocket strongly encourages all users to upgrade to the most current version of Rocket Mobius in combination with the latest Patch Updates to ensure continued compatibility, performance, and support.

The most recent release provides the latest fixes and enhancements to ensure that known critical issues, security updates, and third-party components are updated. Applications built with earlier versions may no longer operate reliably or in accordance with current compliance standards.

While prior versions may still function in some environments, Rocket Software can no longer guarantee full support or legal defensibility for deployments that remain on outdated software.

To avoid potential disruptions, compliance issues, or exposure to unsupported third-party components, we strongly recommend updating to the latest version.

Security and Maintenance Updates

Rocket Mobius releases (Service Builds and major versions) may include security-related fixes, maintenance improvements, and updates to third-party components and libraries. Customers should evaluate and apply updates in accordance with their organization's patch management and security policies.
