Problem:
There is a great need to extract from a project the SQL CRUD table information. How would this be done using the Analysis tools that Revolve supplies today?
Resolution:
Attached to this KB is a zip file that contains many analysis tools. Below is how to work with it.
This toolset was created to help the user analyze their SQL project and retain the SQL CRUD information. The output could be exported to an Excel spreadsheet.
1.
Unzip this file into your Revolve 7.0 directory (using folder names).
2.
Copy the sqlcrud.xls from the config\\reports folder to c:\\rv folder.
3.
Go to Revolve 7.0 and open the project to run the toolset.
4.
Go to Enterprise/Analysis Tools.
a.
Note that if this project has been open prior to unzipping these tools then it is necessary to go to Options/Tool Palette Editor to add these tools (highlight the left panel, press "Add Selected" button, press OK)
5.
Run "Report: SQL Crud" - change properties as follows:
a.
Report type - "comma separated values"
b.
Display output - "Display File"
c.
Filespec to send output to - default value
6.
Go to C:\\rv folder and Open sqlcrud.xls
7.
On "Revolve EE Report" tab choose drop down "Data/Refresh Data"
8.
Browse for c:\\rv\\sqlcrud.txt and import
9.
go to "Formatted CRUD" tab, select cell A4
10.
Right-click, choose "Refresh Data"
11.
To drill down on actual statement double-click on the number under the CRUD type and to the right of the column in question (a new sheet will be created in the workbook - tab will read Sheet1).
Have a look at the extra tools added to the tool palette. These tools will find columns or tables by name pattern, find the associated columns/tables, etc.
The IMSSQLCRUD.zip file has additional scripts that need to be put in Revolve 7.0\\config\\scripts folder.
