How can we move Netexpress our licence to new hardware?

We have a very old single license of NetExpress, which we use very rarely for testing very old software. We have no maintanance contract.

We now need to move Netexpress to a new computer.

I tried to create a revoke key using PROTCFG.exe, but i get an error "Failed to revoke an option.(0)".

Furthermore, i am unsure on what url to use to pass the revoke key (once i get one) to microfocus and to  obtain a new licence key subsequently.

Thanks for your help!

What version of Net Express is this?

You can try revoking the key using the License Managment System which you can start from the Net Express group on the Start menu.

If you generate the revoke key please send it to me at chris.glazier@microfocus.com and I will walk you thru the process of relicensing the product on your new machine.

Hi Chris,

thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

The version is 3.1.11, and there is just MFNetx.exe on the Start menu, otherwise I've got only the binaries under c:\\programs. Can you tell me which exe to start? I hoped it was protcfg.exe, but that delivers an error when i try to revoke. Same result with revoke.exe. Maybe missing an argument?

MfNetx.exe works fine.

MfNetx.exe works fine.

That is an extremely old version of Net Express.

The following is what the Start Menu should look like:

Let's bypass the revoke process. Please install NX on the new system then open up a command prompt and cd to the NX\\base\\bin folder and start protcfg.exe. This will start the license manager.

Use this to generate a new Request Key and then email that to me and I will provide you with the response key if I can generate it.

You can then uninstall NX from your old system.

Since you're planning to install this old version on a new computer, I doubt the installation would be successful. This old version was certified up to Windows XP.

It's running on the new hardware.
