I followed the sudo configuration instructions at Rocket Software Documentation

Then, I attempted to invoke it:

. sudo ls

BMUSER:/local/rocket/miniconda>sudo ls
sudo: unknown user ROOT
sudo: error initializing audit plugin sudoers_audit
IBMUSER:/local/rocket/miniconda>

What am I missing??

What version/build of sudo are you using? It's an old bug, and some builds of sudo had it.

Strangely, I am unable to recreate it with this version on the system without the root user...

Can you please provide the outputs of the following commands:

conda list

tsocmd "search class(USER) uid(0)"

Hi Roger,

To use sudo, the system must have ROOT or BPXROOT users (uid 0) configured. I don't see either one in the list you sent.
