When using -z option (zEDC), is it possible to unzip in other plataforma, like Windows?

    When using -z option (zEDC), is it possible to unzip in other plataforma, like Windows?

    No, currently a file compressed with gzip -z can only be uncompressed (with gunzip) on another z/OS system.

    I’m not sure why that should be the case, and will look into it.

    Thank you, so there is no advantage to use the gzip in z/OS environment with –z option.
