Hi Gloria,
The error that you posted seems to be an error of JVM, but Git doesn't use Java code and has no intersection with JVM. If you still believe that Git is somehow related to your issue, we would like to hear more details of your use case.

Hi Gloria,
Can you please try setting the following environment variables and restart the system:
<country>.UTF-8 for LANG, it needs to be changed. Note - en_US is for US English language but the language may vary.Getting next error when using GIT 2.41.0-4
java.nio.file.InvalidPathException: Malformed input or input contains unmappable characters: aaaaaٖaaaa
Are these environment variable settings for everything running in OMVS across the board, everything running with Java, or just for Git?

Thanks for the inputs, I tried by adding the JVM parameters but still having the same errors. I tried to clone directly from our z system and got:
fatal: remote did not send all necessary objects:
Resolving deltas: 100% (23567/23567), done.
usage: git rev-list [OPTION] <commit-id>... [ -- paths... ]

Hi Gloria, I think Git client is too new to handle remote server. In worst case if no other option working, might be downgrading git / reinstalling can fix the issue.
Thanks!

Hi Gloria,
Have you tried to clone the same repo using Git client 2.41 on other platforms (e.g., Windows or Linux)?

Thanks a lot all for your answer, I was able to fetch successfully by setting this property -Dfile.encoding=ISO8859-1, we used to have UTF-8 when we use git 2.26.

Rocket team, we would like understand about this file.encoding change. For git 2.26 we had file.encoding=UTF.8 and this one (2.41.0) we had to change to ISO8859-1, do you know which is the difference between them related with tags?

Hi Gloria,
I tried to create a working job with git 2.26 + file.encoding=UTF-8 setting, but I didn't succeed, with ISO8859-1 it works fine.
Could you please share the details: node settings, pipeline steps, git agent version, Jenkins version, java version, etc to reproduce the problem?
Thanks,
Alexander
