PHP, BASH, cURL, GIT, gzip, PERL products FILE SYSTEM

Hi Team,

Do you know if the Rocket filesystems need to be one set per LPAR or can they be one set per shared SYSPLEX
They are currently mounted as Read/Write. I need to know if they can be mounted as READ.

When you say 'Rocket filesystems', exactly what do you mean? Are you talking about a separate zFS data set where Miniconda is installed?

SYSISV.OMVS.GZIP
SYSISV.OMVS.BASH
SYSISV.OMVS.PEARL
SYSISV.OMVS.CURL
SYSISV.OMVS.GIT
SYSISV.OMVS.PHP

Whether this file systems needs to be in R/W mode or it can be in RO mode.
Also for now we have these filesystem allocated for each LPAR in a PLEX, whether it can be a SHARED FILESYSTEM in a PLEX.

Please note that you are using rather old versions of Ported Tools. The latest versions of Ported Tools are now bundled together into the product named Rocket AppDev for Z, and need to be installed or updated using conda, a package manager. You can find more details in the following forum posts:

In regards to installing the latest versions of the ported tools, we recently upgraded Rocket Git to V2.26.2-87 as part of an IBM Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS (ADFZ) suite V4.00.02 package. Our recent understanding from IBM is that Curl and some other dependencies have been removed permanently. we are in need of the Curl open source tool available within Rocket Open AppDev for Z bundle. 

My questions are:

1) is there a compatibility requirement for the version of Curl to be installed with git V2.26.2-87? or can we proceed safely to install the latest version of curl? 

2) Since we had git installed via IBM, is it necessary to Migrate to z/OS Miniconda?

You can proceed safely to install the latest version of curl.

The preferred way to install curl is to use miniconda, you can, of course, try downloading the archive from anaconda.org and try to unpack it, but you must not forget about the curl dependencies and download and unpack them too, this is not a desirable method, and does not guarantee correct operation.
