Every time I've tried to use the Debugger Perspective in U2BDT it crashes the entire application.

We're using v4.4.0 of U2BDT, after crashing we get this Java error:

Is there anything I should be particularly looking out for configuration wise?

Matthew,

There is a newer version of the BDT available version 4.4.1 which is freely downloadable from the Rocket Website. I suggest trying that version first to see if the problem is corrected. If the problem persists in 4.4.1 please let us know. If 4.4.1 doesn't correct the problem please also let us know if you are connecting to a UV or UD server, which platform and version.

For reference we get asked every now and then where to get the U2 clients and tools software.  These include:

U2 Clients

  • ODBC, JDBC, UOJ and .NET drivers and associated tools
  • Visual Schema Generator
  • SSL Setup Tool
  • Certificate Management Tool
  • Dynamic Connect
  • Intercall
U2 DBTools
  • U2 Basic Developer Toolkit
  • U2 EDA Replication Configuration Tool
  • U2 EDA Schema Manager
  • U2 Extensible Administration Tool (XAdmin)
  • U2 Metadata Manager
  • U2 RESTful Web Services Developer
  • U2 XML/DB Mapping Tool

These two packages are all available for public download from RBC | Rocket Software - just choose :
  • Resources
  • Product Availability
  • Choose the Product and 'Search',  either for U2 DBTools or U2 Clients (these will always show as for Windows, though the JAVA clients are multi-platform)
  • Use the 'Product' link under the 'Downloads' column for the version required - this will usually be the latest version.
  • You will now have options to download the Product - which includes the Documentation - or the Documentation only,

When upgrading the U2 DBTools, please do not upgrade 'in-situ' as you may find that Eclipse/JAVA changes mean that you cannot 'mix & match'. Please de-install all the current U2 DBTools and rename the C:\\U2\\U2tools directory prior to a fresh install.

If you wish to keep the connection information rather than recreate it afresh, you can copy over the appropriate 'workspace' folders from the saved directory into the new folders - e.g. C:\\U2\\U2tools\\v4.9\\u2admin_workspace

If the saved directory is no longer required then it can be deleted.

Regards
JJ

Thanks for the reply - I've installed 4.4.1 but I'm still experiencing the same crash after switching to Debug Perspective.

We're using UniVerse 12.1

Matthew,

The best route for us to investigate this further is to open a support call through your normal route with us.

Thanks,
Jonathan
