how to search in the IDE Editor for an expression that spans over 2 Lines of Code?

    This doesn't totally fill the brief, but it is probably your best bet.

    You can see the post 'deprecated scan problem' for the search and replace addition.

    Export the object(or copy/paste) and then use notepad++ to do a regular expression

    example:

    [^$]scan(.*)\\r\\n(.*)(\\$result)(.*)
