New Feature(s)

  • When the Uniface installer shows the license activation dialog it is possible to fill in an entitlement ID that is meant for an RMS server i.s.o. Uniface and it will be activated.
This situation is averted. The license activation dialog will produce an error if the entitlement ID is not meant for Uniface and allow you to retry with the correct entitlement ID.

UNI-31758MSS: error 8069 can occur when trying to overwrite existing data
UNI-31715U-Bar does not auto-select the content anymore

UNI-31758  -  MSS: error 8069 can occur when trying to overwrite existing data

Solution available in patch(es):      10.3.03-034, 10.4.02-013

Description:

While importing data (using either ide /cpy or urm entitycopy) to a table in MSS (Microsoft SQL Server) that already has data and should be superseded then the following error could be returned:

8069 - Copy failed: Write error on file/table 'DEF:ENTITY1.MODEL1'.
I/O function: W, mode: 0, on file/table: ENTITY1 length: 1234

The described problem only seems to occur when using the newer ODBC drivers doe SQL Server, like e.g. SQL Native Client or ODBC Driver for SQL Server, and does not occur when using the old SQL Server ODBC driver (SQLSRV32.DLL). And the issue also seems to depend on how the primary key (PK) is defined: the issue can be seen when the PK includes a field that is larger than 253 characters.

Environment:

+ Uniface version: 9, 10
+ Platforms: All
+ Databases: MSS

Workaround:

The described issue does not occur when using old SQL Server ODBC driver (SQLSRV32.DLL).
