So you've got the new Rocket DevOps and you really like using it, but, let's face it, sometimes you forget where you stored that bookmark to get to the URL. Did you know that you can hot link to it right from the comfort of your LMi Main Menu?
Some time ago, we added Option 15 "Report Manager" to the main menu. This is basically just a URL that you can click on to launch in your default browser. The sneaky bit is that we don't care what URL you put in there, we'll launch whatever you give us. So, why not put the link to your RDOp in there. To be fair, that's where Report Manager is anyway, right, so it's not really cheating. :)
Here is a sample of how you set the data area:
CHGDTAARA DTAARA(ACMSCTL/ACMSRMURL *ALL) VALUE('http://SYSTEMA:8890/page/login')
If you kept the default port of 8890, you will probably just need to replace "SYSTEMA" with the name of the IBM i where you've hosted LMi.
Now when you take Option 15: Report Manager, from the LMi Main Menu, you will see something like this:
Now just double-click on the field and up pops RDOp! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
