I'm sorry if this is a bit of a silly question - I'm not too familiar with using SQL or database queries in general.I have a field "D:Morphology" which is populated by codes beginning with a letter and followed by a 5 digit number (e.g M80000). I also have a "D:Topography" field which functions in more or less the same way.I need a query to return:All values for D:Morphology beginning with M8 or M9 AND ending in 1-9orAll values for D:Morphology ending in 0 IF D:Topography begins with T91 orAll values for D:Morphology ending in 0 IF D:Topography begins with T92 orAll values for D:Morphology ending in 0 IF D:Topography begins with TX (EXCEPTTX05-TX07)orD:Morphology is equal to M49000 AND D:Topography begins with T06orD:Morphology is equal to M:74008 OR M74009 OR M72860if anyone could help me form this query or point me in the direction to best learn how to do this myself, I would really appreciate it.David

We are using the CorBusiness and CorPortfolio products for our reports.  I created several CorPortfolio pages so that users can run Queries using HyperVu.  I recently went to make changes to them and I no longer have the ability to add or edit the pages.  I verified that I still have permission to the files/directory.  Any ideas what could cause this situation?------------------------------Scott BaxterPresidentW M Plastics Inc, dba Novation Industries------------------------------

Occasionally we get time to tidy things up and document what is essential to our system's operation.A CorVu system evolves over time and documenting it can become a head-ache. Here are a couple of ideas, please suggest any you may have used successfully.1: CORVU.INI : This is the essential properties file for any CorBusiness installation. It contains the files paths, preferences, licensing server and special settings used by a session as well as all the connection definitions for databases and their knowledge libraries. If this gets damaged then you are in a difficult place! Keep a safe copy of it before making any manual changes. You can add commentary to it using a semi-colon at the start of the line and you can rearrange the sections in to a sequence to make more sense as new stuff usually gets added to the end of file. For example, I like to have the [Config] and [Environment] sections near the top of the file and group together all the related environment stuff.e.g. [Config] Passwd

As this issue is trending on our support Knowledgebase (in the Rocket Community), I thought I would share it here with some extras. If you would like more info on emails from CorVu Schedules please let me know.Sending email notifications from CorVu CorBusiness, especially from a Scheduled task is a powerful way to distribute business info to users, including those who may not have CorVu installed. The emails generated from a scheduler task can contain attachments of pdf, html, csv or other outputs generated from a CorVu query or report. You can also choose between plain text or HTML for the body message, which allows you to insert formatting and web-links to the files generated by your scheduler tasks. This way you can send users html links to the scheduler generated output instead of sending huge Excel files or PDFs to clog up their email systems and inboxes. The popular issue at the moment is how to use MS Outlook in Office 365 to send your CorVu emails via a secured smtp. Hi All,Mark Woodhall suggested I join this forum, so here I am.I used Corvu versions 4.0 to 5.1 over a period of about 10 years, including 2 years work for Corvu as a consultant with the Sydney and London offices. If you have any Corvu questions, feel free to message me and I will help if I can!RegardsMark Tiller------------------------------Mark TillerDeveloperHyperdyne Systems------------------------------

Very often around this time of the new year CorVu queries and prompts fail to calculate dates correctly. They produce odd dates like 31/12/1899 00:00:00 or 01/01/1601 24:00:00 which is very unsettling. It is like the dreaded millennium bug every year - BUT in this case it is not a bug. It's the user definable Calendar function provided to give you the flexibility to define the business's fiscal calendar for each year. Some businesses use a 13 period calendar, it the UK we have the fiscal year-end in March, not December and others have specific month-ends which must fall on a weekend etc..etc. So this means the Calendar definitions file (called default.ca1) has to be part of the annual maintenance procedure for a CorBusiness (& HyperVu) installation. The date functions in CorVu usually use the Calendar function in order to work out fiscal periods, quarters, and first & last dates. The sudden occurrence of Invalid dates in previously healthy results are often the result of having an

Thanks to Arjun at Homeserve USA for his persistence on exploring this option in the CorVu Data Server Manager Knowledge Library. Previously I had only used virtual tables to achieve the same capability. In the Knowledge library (KL) you can create multiple Enterprise relationship diagrams (ERDs) containing your selected tables, and visualise the joins between them. The obvious temptation is to create additional ERDs for each reporting requirement and change the joins as needed. HOWEVER the catch is that changing the join in one ERD will impact the join in all other ERDs!! If I remove a link between two tables, it will remove it from all other ERDs, or if I edit a link to be an outer join it changes all occurrences of that link in all ERDs. This is a major problem which is sometimes not discovered until query designs have been committed. However, we found that you can create different joins between the same tables IF you do it in different Virtual Databases (shown as green barrels) in

The power of Servergraph is that it provides a data exploration experience that can be defined for any user based on their needs and/or their expertise.  Below is an example of how easily you can provide this information to your team, management and users. In this specific instance we'll assume you're building a Servergraph experience for your manager, Ellen, the Directory of IT Infrastructure. Ellen has been working in technology for many years and has a great depth of knowledge and wisdom, but now spends more time dealing with budgetary issues than signing on to systems. But she doesn't want to log in to systems and run commands, she needs quick answers at a high level on usage trends to plan for the future and the general health of the enterprise. She doesn't want to call her admins every time she needs an answer to a question, and in any case she wants to see the facts with her own eyes using her own tool. Rocket Servergraph is perfect for her. Now she could do this environment up

In the last 3 years Servergraph has had a complete makeover.  From enhanced performance to a brand new user-friendly interface, the only thing the latest version of Servergraph has in common with former versions is its industry leading report granularity, access control, and enterprise coverage. If you're not on the latest version you are missing a lot of functionality that will increase your return on investment and make Servergraph the tool everyone on your team and in management uses daily. And if you already have Rocket Servergraph under maintenance the upgrade is free. The roots of Servergraph are still there. It's still a product built by backup and storage managers for backup and storage managers that filters vast amounts of metadata so users get what they need when they need it. But with improvements in the UI it is no longer an admin only tool. The detailed information is still available, but for managers who want an overview, or other users with specific or limited access need

Servergraph 9.1 is now available, and here are some interesting videos on the product: Intro to Servergraph 9.1 - overview Welcome to Servergraph 9.1 (for new users) Personalizing Dashboards (part1) This product takes the data collection of all the products Servergraph supports (47 at last count, including all the major enterprise backup products and storage devices) and gives it a brand new front end. An intuitive front end that works as well for the experienced administrator as the non-technical or occasional user. Whatever the question is on backup or storage, the answer is in Servergraph. Either in one of our pre-built dashboards or a dashboard you create yourself. And then share whatever information you want with others – as detailed or limited/filtered as you like.------------------------------Steve WrightRocket Software------------------------------

Disclosure: I know nothing! We are hoping to hire someone to help us with interacting with this database: https://web.archive.org/web/20061111130412/http://www.esj.com/article.aspx?ID=380045556PM We have spreadsheets with information. It’s just one piece of information per student. We don’t want to data entry it. Is it possible to create a program at the terminal that will automatically interact with the interface? Any way to estimate how costly/difficult this would be?
