We are in testing a new server where we've installed jBASE 5.8.  We migrated everything from the old server running jBASE 5.7 and are concerned about indexes. Although we rebuilt all the indexes the LIST-INDEX command does not display the indexes on jBASE 5.8 Using the INVOICE file as an example, on jBASE 5.7, "LIST-INDEX INVOICE" displays the following: INDEX definitions for file INVOICE at 11:22:28  06 JUL 2023          PAGE    1 INDEX NAME LOCALE NAME SORT KEYS. Hi, Yesterday I ran in some kind of deadlock situation (at least I think) - the ZMF Explorer uses the old fashioned way of userid and password - ZOSMF has been implemented using MFA In VS Code they both use underneath the Credentials Manager of ZOWE When I logon to ZMF, zooms is not working and when I connect to zosmf the ZMF Explorer isn't working Is there a way to have both plugins working with different security credentials Thank you Best regards Johan #ZOSMF#ChangeManZMF#zowe#ZMFExplorer

hi folks, I hope someone can help me.  First, I want to add pypi.org packages /modules and have it available to import on script.py executed from RUNPY or BASIC py function. How to do it fom within  Universe ?  Second, I want to distribute our own modules with my basic application. Trying to call a REST service from within Uniface code.  Using the following code.  putitem/id v_headers,"X-PCI-Token",<token> putitem/id v_headers,"content-type","application/json" v_data = $newstruct .... some code to build the struct correctly....... structtojson/whitespace v_content, v_data $api$->set_flags(15) v_status = $api$->SEND($uri$, "POST", "", "", v_Headers, v_Content, v_Response) v_headers, v_contact and v_response are all strings.  I have checked v_content just before the send operation, and it contains correctly formatted JSON. Pasting this JSON into SoapUI activates the far end correctly.  However, logging on the far end shows blank content when send from uniface.  Is there any way I can catch/log the output of UHTTP to get the raw data sent to the far end? I'm an ole school programmer getting back into COBOL programming (for fun, not profit) currently using Visual COBOL in VS2022 to produce an application with character-based screens (i.e., screen section) and I have a couple of questions: How can I print a program listing? Ages ago on the mainframe I would print listings showing the assembler code. Is this even possible in my configuration? What are the prevailing COBOL coding conventions? I am trying to call a program of type "JVM COBOL" (which from now on I will call program "J") from a program of type "Native COBOL" (which from now on I will call program "N") from my Enterprise Developer local environment but the following error occurs:Load error : file 'ProgramJ'error code: 173, pc=0, call=1, sec=0173 Called program file not found in drive/directory The program program "J" is in a project of type "COBOL JVM Project" and program "N" is in another project of type "Mainframe COBOL Project". I have modified the "Projects" tab of the "Micro Focus --> Build Path" properties of the "Mainframe COBOL Project" type project to incorporate the "COBOL JVM Project" type project, but this has not been enough for the "Enterprise Developer" find the compiled object of program "J". So, could anyone tell me what else I should change in the settings to fix the problem?Finally, I add that the compilation of the program "J" generates a file with the extension .class and the compilation

We have a batch system which is being converted from NetExpress to MF Visual COBOL 8. In VS when debugging we are using Environment Variables to define file and report paths. But when the EXE is used in Testing or released to client we don't want the Environment Variable included as the report/file paths will be in the BAT file.   If we don't tick the 'Use variables when building the project' when debugging will the variables be used but when compiling/build for release will the variables be ignored?  In NetExpress we had two projects, a development project where the environment variables would be populated and then a release project which the environment variables would not be entered. I am trying to get away from having to have separate projects, one for development and one for release.

Standard bind automation concentrates on the target environment (e.g. promotion or install target). With the dynamism of Db2 package location this is generally good enough. Db2 is very good at finding an appropriate package with which to execute your Db2 executable. There are situations where a Db2 component change in one environment invalidates the execution of that component in a different environment. For example, when making use of logical subsystems to separate different testing environments within the same physical Db2 subsystem, insertion of a change further up the lifecycle (e.g. a hotfix) can invalidate the search for a suitable package lower down the lifecycle. A new Db2 option facility is available at ZMF 8.3 to allow secondary binding to be automated, i.e. given that the target logical subsystem is ‘this’ then we will also require an automated bind (using relevant clause value templating) at ‘that’ logical subsystem. While both the package and ERO area audit reports are rich in structural detail it can sometimes be difficult to quickly reference the highlights. At ZMF 8.3 a new step is added to both audit jobs which produces a one-line per error summary. Note that these reports are based on existing facilities/data generated by the audit jobs. Which means you could generate your own audit ‘extracts’ should you so wish. The one-line summary package audit report is driven by the CSV extract which you can ask audit to produce (see details in Chapter 8 of the ZMF administrators guide). We have a need to create a single URL RESTful service that will give a different response for GET and POST queries. For GET, the service just echoes the data passed, but for POST it must return data from the database in JSON format. I created an "endpoints.yaml" to create the GET, but have not found any way to create a single URL that answers both GET and POST and treats them differently. So we might have, for example, a call to the URL: http://testapi.mbs.net.au:7171/APP/subroutine/TESTSUB?responsecode This would be expected to simply return the string "responsecode" as specified in the URL. However, if data is POSTed to the same URL (minus the "?responsecode" part), then JSON containing database information would be returned. I've tried various things in endpoints.yaml but have had no success. In upgrading Uniface software from version 10.3.02 to 10.4.02, are the migration settings in the logicals section of the assignment file still needed? They were used when upgrading from 9.7 to 10.3 so I wouldn't think they would continue to be needed since the repository has already been migrated to version 10. We are writing a REST call in web service for a 3rd party to access some data.  I am using $webinfo("status") to return 201 or 204 for successes and 400 for failures. The 3rd party is complaining that:- The status is showing twice in the response line.  There is no indication of a reason for failure.  I have tried using $webinfo("statusreason") to both change the duplication and/or return the reasons for failure, but the documentation indicates it's only returned if the status is 200.  Is there any way to fit the USP output to the 3rd party's perceived 'standard' for REST services (i.e. status only once in the response line, followed by the reason for failure in case of a failure?    Regards,  Iain ------------------------------Iain SharpHead of Technical ServicesPci Systems LtdSheffield GB------------------------------
