When a promotion overlay situation exists, using ZMF4ECL 8.3.0 Build 674 displays the message ‘CMN3252A – xxxxxxxx.xxx exists in target promotion library, attempt to overlay’.  Clicking on ‘OK’, returns you to a prior screen and the promotion does not take place.  Checking the package in ZMF confirms the promotion did not take place.  Promoting the package in ZMF completes just fine.Note: Same promotion scenario with ZMF4ECL 8.2 Patch 6 Build 609 does not display the error message and the promotion completes as expected.  Full article: https://portal.microfocus.com/s/article/KM000015928#SupportTips/KnowledgeDocs#ChangeManZMF

I'm seeing something strange and I'm not sure what to check next. We have 2 subroutines that work fine (both are called hundreds of times a day), but then on a certain date, both start throwing this message. I have network printer HP LaserJet Pro M428f-M429f with static IP address 10.0.0.27. It was installed using TPC/IP option on Windows 10. Hello, Recently, when working in a Visual COBOL 4.0 Visual Studio 2017 environment, if we leave Visual Studio 2017 up for a length of time, we get the following Visual Studio 2017 error.   We then have to kill Visual Studio 2017 via Task Manager.   Has anyone else experienced this?  Could this have been caused by a Microsoft update?

We are using WPF with Visual COBOL in our software, and our software is setup where our screens display in tabs.   I need to figure out a way to check to see if the user has a program open in one tab, and then tries to run that exact program from a call statement in another program.  I want to display an error message letting them know that the program is already open on another tab. Is there a way to do this?

We applications running under cobol server on Linux (RHEL 8) with a temporary license and have a permanent license to install. Can this be done without stopping our COBOL applications?

By importing the project.app i can see in the importReport.txt following lines: * Did not optimize 'adm-anb_dll', as its 'link with lib file' link setting contains a non-default value * Did not optimize 'cgtools_dll', as its 'link with lib file' link setting contains a non-default value * Did not optimize 'eti-anb_dll', as its 'run-time model' link setting contains a non-default value * Did not optimize 'LLMODULES_dll', as its 'run-time model' link setting contains a non-default value What can i do to find the non-default value and correct this? thanks for help!

Hi FreaksWe have to migrate to Uniface 10 as UnifAce 9 is out of support end of this year.Okay, we will still develop in UF 9 and upgrade our components to UF 10 only for the purpose to deploy the application 🙂But there a few things to modfy so our compnents will run under UF 10One of this is that we are using a few tables from DICT to get meta information at runtime .Thist will not longer work by default, as the entities are modifiedSo I want to duplicate DICT to APP_DICT with the old definitions.And curious how I am, I tried to duplicate under UF 10.But how to do so?Where can I duplicate a whole model, what's under UF 9 an easy task?Regrads Ingo

When upgrading ZMF it can sometimes be easy to overlook the migration step that covers the re-build of the assembler exits (i.e. those named CMNEXnnn). Hi  We do have in UF 9.7 a lot of global constants (per library) defined.Some of this constants will be used in global procedures. Now I'm migrating via UF 10.3 to UF 10.4 and oops: The constants in the global procedures will not be resolved.In the listing the is no clue about 'defparam'. When I insert as first line in a globale procedure: #include DEFPARAMnothing changed.Missspelling DEFPARAM like DEFXYZ gives me warning that there is no include script DEFXYZ what is correct. So UnifAce recognize a globale include script but don't use it !?!?! The question is now: How do you get UnifAce to use global constants in global objects? Each Patch Update release of Visual COBOL is provided with a .zip file containing Help content that can be installed into the Visual Studio Help Viewer. This file can be obtained as a separate download from the SLD site. If I already have installed the base release of the Help content into Visual Studio then how do I install the updated Help content?
