Does anyone know if the training course previously offered by Acucorp for Advanced Windows programming will be offered in any format in the near future? I struggle with interfacing my cobol programs with Active-X, Com objects and .dlls and really need a clear basic understanding of these controls. I would also like to learn more about .NET interfacing.

If the course will not be offered would it be possible to at least provide a copy of the course content in a white paper or web training session?

Any suggestions for information sources that may assist me on these topics?

Thank you!

You should talk with your local Micro Focus sales person, he or she should know if this is planned.

Gisle - if you do not know and you would be the one holding the course it sounds as if th epowers that be do not believe it is useful any more? Being a n old COBOL Dynosaur and having been on the course myself it is hard to believe it may have been withdrawn - I now have emailing, ftp, excel and word interfaces and a host of other windows features that I frankly could never have contemplated before.

The other suggestion from 'Sdees' of a white paper, examples and so on would seem therefore to be something almost all of us would welcome - what do you think?

I spoke to my sales rep several months ago and was told it was not being offered. I will check with them again, although I was to be notified if it became available.

Keith; I am not the only one doing this training anymore. Two colleagues of mine have also done this class (US and Europe respectively).

I know the course have been held in the US during the last year (not by me), so it is not true that it is not being offered, was anyway.

In Europe however, it might be that it has not been offered for a while.

Anyways, I am pretty sure the training will be set up if there is a demand for it. No offense Sdees, but you are only one person :-).

The more people that tell their sales contact they want this training, the more likely there will be one.

It might make sense to release the course material on a general basis, perhaps in this forum if we do not provide the training anymore though.

I will ask around and see what the plans are.

Hi Shaun.

That makes two. Anyone else out there that might consider this? So I can beef up the numbers I give to sales to have them look into it?
