I think you can control it through your SELECT statement for the print file.

For example, to send the report direct to your windows print queue you would use:-SELECT PRINTER-FILE ASSIGN "-P SPOOLER"
To send the report to the lp print service on a *NIX server, use:-SELECT PRINTER-FILE ASSIGN "-P lp -s"
To send the report directly to the lp device on a *NIX server, use:-SELECT PRINTER-FILE ASSIGN "-P /dev/lp"
If you want to use a specific network printer, use:-SELECT PRINTER-FILE ASSIGN "-Q \\\\printername"

I suggest you refer to section 2.8 of the User's Guide.

I hope that helps... :D

Unfortunately Blacky, you are not quite right. First of all, using -P SPOOLER in thin client environments will always go to the client. Then, to get this printed on the server means that the server printer must have been installed on the client.
Using -Q is no good, that is just addressing a specific printer that has to be available on the thin client.
In fact, if you you want to print from the server to the server in a thin client scenario, you cannot use the -P SPOOLER, but print directly to the hardware, like -D LPT1:
Your unix examples are however correct.
