Anyone interested in starting a discussion on SCM products and the pluses and minuses you may have experienced? I've been using PVCS for a few years now but I have been going back and forth with setting it up using the acubench. Anybody have any experiences with this?

I think we differ in opinion here. I like to spend most of the time in my IDE (eclipse). Indeed it's a single click to start a explorer and work with Tortoise, but actually I don't even want to know there's a SCM to which I should commit/synchonize.

Currently we're migrating from Bugzilla/CVS to ClearQuest/ClearCase, both integrated in Eclipse. After a hard start I don't want to go back anymore. We now have one tool for our lifecycle, development, bugtracking and sourcecontrol.
A need Acocobol plugin for eclipse would be great! Ofcourse notepad can be used, but wouldn't it be much more easy if it could be done all in 1 tool with code highlight, code completion, auto builds etc.?

Well, I understand where you are coming from, but I'd suggest going with Eclipse TortoiseSVN. I'd also suggest installing winmerge for a diff/conflict editor which integrates quite nicely with svn, because it's the best text editor out there for editing merges.

I've worked with plugins in the past, and at least with the open source scms, they lag behind the dedicated tools in terms of functionality. In your case, I'd suggest installing TortioiseSVN and seeing if you can live with it. If you can't you can probably key bind most of the scm commands in Eclipse (you can also do this in AcuBench). This will require a little elbow work, but it can be done...
