Is anyone using Scansoft as a PDF creator when using AcuCobol? One of our users has changed the pdf creator from an Adobe Acrobat product and installed Scansoft in its place.
When the COBOL program was writing to the Acrobat PDF writer, there was no problem. The document was definitely WYSIWYG.
When the document created in Scansoft is printed, the page is not formatted in relation to the different fonts and the whole page appears to be left justified. It was almost as if the rpinter was printing to an A5 page with A4 paper left in the printer.
Our IT administrator has checked settings and also used CutePDF to produce a document in the correct format.
I am almost tempted to say that if the AcuCobol program writes a PDF file and Adobe and CutePDF can process it successfully, then it appears that there might be an incompatibility between the Scansoft formatting and fonts and those set up in the AcuCobol program.
Thanks
Geoffrey
