hi all. Working at a site that wants to trap mainframe alerts, particularly job abends, and generate a Help Desk ticket in TeamTrack. Assuming the mechanism into TeamTrack (big assumption, I know), how would one generate that email from the MF side? I am guessing something out of the job scheduler.

There are several possibilities to enable messaging for the mainframe.
1. monitoring tools like patrol can send emails
2. Some jobscheduling tools provide follow-up of submitted jobs
3. an extra step at the end of your jcl that checks the jcl and send an email.
So depending on your mainframe environment and available tools there are numerous ways to create and send emails from the mainframe.
The Teamtrack side can capture easily the mails that are being send to a particular mailbox and create incidents for it.
