Please, could you tell me how are these files different and what is their meaning?

CMNCMPNL (Long-Name Component Master) and CMNCMPNT (Short-Name Component Master)

Hi Manuel,

The long component master file was introduced in ZMF 7.1.3. The Readme for that release stated:

“New Features in ZMF 7.1.3

- Component master file converted to two VSAM KSDS files - The component master data space/LDS is converted to two VSAM KSDS files, one for components with names of eight characters or less, and the other for components with longer names. This change improves ChangeMan ZMF reliability and reduces administrative overhead. For a full explanation of this change, see Solution S139552.”
