Hi everyone! Is there a version of OpenQM for personal use or study purposes? If so, where can I download it?
Hi folks, I have a performance issue with the large-scale system. I know that this discussion depends on resources, so please assume sufficient resources are available. Let's think about a single read-only transaction performance by just 'run <file name>'. Assuming that elapsed time is 5 sec and CPU time is 1 sec. Then I tried processing this query by concurrent 2 users by phantom, but each user of elapsed and CPU time was very much worse than single. Roughly, it's 10 times worse. In reality, Is it impossible to get a benefit from parallel processing? ---- Sample basic program. cnt = 300000 open "STOCK" to fp else abort startTime = Time()startTimeCpu = System(9) for i=1 to cnt read rec from fp,"101" else abortnext i endTime = Time()endTimeCpu = System(9) print "elapse : ":(endTime - startTime)print "elapse(cpu) : ":(endTimeCpu - startTimeCpu)/1000 end ------------------------------------- ------------------------------Yukio KozukaSimount CorpBunkyo-ku JP----------

we have a file that has a MV list of part numbers in an attribute In D3, we used to be able to select wo "235789" PL.IDS this would give is the keys to a new file. The dictionary looks like: DICT wo pl.ids01: S02: 1903: 04: 05: 06: 07: 08: F;"*"R;19;:;0R;_;:09: L10: 2811: A;0R:"*"R:N(PICKLIST.PNS) ~~ F;0;"*"R;:;19;: In D3, we would get 235789*001 235789*002 235789*003 In QM, we get 235789*001 002 003 Yes, we already use indexes though out our system, but we have some of this old logic. We are hunting this down, but we would like to know to make the dictionary work correctly. We have tried the "A" correlative, but neither seems to work.------------------------------Jesse TilliaProman-ERP, Inc.West Seneca NY US------------------------------
I just bought a copy of OpenQM to test some of my applications. My first program to test is a main menu. In this MVBASIC program I draw a character outline around the border of the screen, the fill in the menu options. The program then calls a suproutine called XPRMT. I use the XPRMT subroutine for all keyboard input in all programs, it is the only INPUT statement in my systems. One of the parameters that I pass to XPRMT is PSTR which is the prompt string which XPRMT prints at @(0,24), the bottom of the screen. In UniVerse this routine works perfectly, but in OpenQM it was displaying the PSTR value over the bottom line of the border which is row 23. My last line printed in the menu program was the log off selection at row 22. After much code changing in XPRMT, I modified the menu program to display the menu selections first and the draw the border and that presented everything properly. What I see is that even though the XPRMT instruction is "PRINT@(0,24):PSTR;", PSTR is being
we have had a recent issue with QMRESTORE creating files with casing on. Once the restore is done, we are having trouble with cases of dictionary items, etc (coming from D3 environment). I delete the file then I do create.file FRT.CHG NO.CASE copy the data and dictionaries from a temp file back into my newly created file, and all works as I would expect. Can I change a fie to be case insensitive without re-creating it. My master login in the QMSYS account has OPTION CREATE.FILE.NO.CASE This is QM ver 4.0.9------------------------------Jesse TilliaProman-ERP, Inc.West Seneca NY US------------------------------
We are using this utility to move some Universe data to QM. Works good. This utility makes us select the files to move, and we now have a list of data files to move. we would like to automate this so, that I could call a program and somehow move like 8 or 10 files, instead of manually selecting the files. I could put it our phantom and refresh the files every night until we get fully migrated to our system.------------------------------Jesse TilliaProman-ERP, Inc.West Seneca NY US------------------------------
Hi, We recently (last week) installed OpenQM 4.0-9 onto my new notebook. Today, I found that some spreadsheets that rely on the QMClient connection were not working (could not connect to server). It turns out that the QMClient.dll was installed into C:\\Windows\\SysWOW64 instead of C:\\Windows\\System32. Has anyone else struck this? And can someone from Rocket comment on why this is occurring? [Those Windows folder names are quite misleading. System32 is supposed to contain 64-bit libraries, while SysWOW64 contains 32-bit libraries. Who thought that was good naming?] Cheers, Brian------------------------------Brian SpeirsWellington NZ------------------------------
I have developed a website using WEBSVC and port 8180. After much trial and error, I have it working and continue to add to the site. Now I am trying to get SSL (https) working. Apache is serving my login page (does not use WEBSVC and port 8180). When the user logs in, now WEBSVC comes into action. Since WEBSVC is running, it starts a phantom that servers 8180. From the $COMO file, this is what I am getting when trying to connect. $COMO PH173_050924_0953174 line(s)----: P0001: COMO file activated to PH173_050924_0953170002: Phantom 173 started at 09:53:17 05 SEP 20240003: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal server error 1 [7013, 2]0004: Phantom 173 terminated at 09:53:47 5 SEP 2024Bottom at line 4 This is how I am initially starting the WEBSVC phantom. Has anyone had success using the REGEX function? I was trying to take advantage of it as it would be more compatible with the Javascript devs, but it always returns false. Here's my example: CRT REGEX('33333','/^\\d{5}(?:-\\d{4})?$/') This returns zero (0) for me. Yet, it should match just fine. :( This is on QM 4.0-7 ------------------------------Ben Cramer DSI Solutions LLCMansfield TX US------------------------------

We have encrypted a number of files. We can grant access to those encrypted files by using the GRANT.KEY command - but this only seems to work for USERS - if we specify a GROUP, then users that belong to that group cannot access the file. The documentation isn't clear on what type of GROUP is being specified - whether this is a Windows group, or a QM group (as defined in ADMIN.USER). We have tried both types of group and still get the same result. Has anyone else used this feature, and have you been able to define group access for an encrypted file? Hi, I have a routine that takes a data value, and then tries to determine what data type should be used when interfacing with other products (Excel in this case). The process I use is to (a) see if it is a number; then (b) ICONV the data value with various masks to see what is recognised. When I came to test standard QM format masks, I found that these got recognised as TIME values ... which I found surprising. For example: ICONV('8R', 'MT') returns 28800 (8 hours)ICONV('8L', 'MT') returns 28800ICONV('8C', 'MT') returns 28800ICONV('12*R', 'MT') returns 43200 (12 hours)ICONV('12*R26', 'MT') returns 43226 (12 hours and 26 seconds) I question whether these are sensible return values for a time conversion. I could understand '8H' being returned as 28800, but not '8R', '8L', or '8C', and certainly not something like '12*R26'. i don't look at any of those values and think - that is a TIME value! Can someone from Rocket comment on this? QM 4.0.9 / Windows. Testing on QM 4.0.7 / Windows give
I have reported this to support but wondered if a) anyone else has seen this issue, and b) warn those of you that may be unaware of it. The GETLIST or GETLISTV statement in QM Basic (not to be confused with GET-LIST from TCL) uses the syntax: GETLIST "LISTNAME" TO MY.LIST SETTING CNT ELSE whatever.... The SETTING CNT is what's broken here. Rather than return the count of items in LISTNAME it returns the count of the most recent active select list you may have had - even though it's no longer active. You can test this quite simply by writing a program such as: PRINT "Listname: ":INPUT LNAMEGETLIST LNAME TO MY.LIST SETTING CNT ELSE STOPCRT "Record Count: ":CNTFOR I = 1 TO CNT CRT MY.LIST<I>NEXT I If you compile / catalog that, then create yourself a savelist with 1 or 2 items in it then log off. Log back in you will be in a new session that has never had an active select list. Run the program, give it your listname and instead of the expected "Record Count: 2" and showing you the

I think I am missing something basic with the spooler. For a long time our company was using D3 and the way our software was setup, whenever something was to be printed, it would first generate a hold file and then the user could send the hold file to the printer at their leisure. When we switched to QM I just had things go immediately to the printer because for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to send a hold file to the printer after the fact. I know this is something very basic but I just don't see it. The solution must be in some mental blind spot of mine. Can someone help me with this?------------------------------Steve HenkelCIORocket Forum Shared Account------------------------------

Dear Friends. I have searched the OPENQM manual for the '$ED' command which I have shown below: $ED Created automatically by the ED editor when first required, this file holds pre-stored edit command sequences. The $ED file will be created automatically first time that the .S command is used to save commandsin this file.Multi-line inserts cannot be repeated from a saved command sequence, will cause the .S commandto fail and, if edited into the pre-stored sequence manually, will be cause a warning message to bedisplayed when the command sequence is executed.Alternatively, a user can create a $ED pre-stored item by using the editor:ED $ED item.nameThe first field of the item must contain E as its first character. Subsequent fields each contain oneeditor instruction in the sequence that the user requires the operations to be performed. However, when I try the ED $ED P2 (P2 being the item.name), I get 'FILE NOT FOUND' Any help will be appreciated. I thank you Vish Maharaj----------------

We have a number of PHP pages that access QM on another server. Our response time is slow by my standards. we have added some pretty significant logging to our process. We know the pageload time in PHP, we know the time for the function call to QM, and we know the QM response time. We getting some variability in response time as well with no patter that we can see. Our OpenQM server is in Azure and running on W2019. Our web server is on a private server running Apach and linux. we are using our url name and port 8280 as normal http://web.xyz.com:8280/api/ we are seeing times of 1.723 seconds to get the function and pageload in PHP. The QM side takes 8ms . we have been looking that the flush time on MVCONNECT, this seems to make no appreciable difference. we are off checking to make sure nothing on the windows server is grabbing this, such as virus checker or something. we down to internet time. Looking for suggestions on best practices. Should we make a private tunnel from linux to

We are running OpenQM 4.0.8 on W2019 in Azure. We are running an Apache web server on a private separate server outside of Azure. we are having what we consider slow and variable response times. we have added a considerable amount of tracking but are unable to find the bottleneck. we are use PHP page to call a function that gets data from the QM server. we are using a http call from the PHP function we call: (we have 20+ of these calls for different information), for instance: http://web.xyz.com:8280/api/getpurp?fnme="obj.maint" we know that the pageload (and function call) is taking 1.723 seconds. We have tracked the QM side at 8ms. we have looked at the flush time in QM and tried WFLUSH to make sure that buffering the response is not part of our problem. we are trying to make sure that we don' t have virus checking software causing delay on the W2019 machine we are looking for best practice here. do people use a private tunnel between webserver and DB server ? do people put
we are working on D3 to QM conversion. The client had a number of select statements that use wildcards. we already know, and are converting to "pattern matching" from QM. The square brackets all still work. Is there any characters to use similar to D3 with part.nbr = "A^^3^^" The up carrot was a wild card character for a single character.
