Hi all, We have Acuserver running on a Windows 2003 server. Our application is an ERP. Is it possible to check what files Acuserver handles when running the application from the same physical server and not from any client? I suppose it should be something in the FILE_PREFIX entry of the configuration file. Thanks
I have been testing Visual Cobol against an older Cobol main frame system and just have a question about Z Zero Suppression Here's a sample program IDENTIFICATION DIVISION. PROGRAM-ID. EXAMPLE. ENVIRONMENT DIVISION. INPUT-OUTPUT SECTION. DATA DIVISION. WORKING-STORAGE SECTION. 01 TEST-RECORD. 05 PR-NUM PIC 99v99. 05 PR-NUM1 PIC ZZ.99. PROCEDURE DIVISION. PARA-1. Display "Enter number" ACCEPT PR-NUM move PR-NUM to PR-NUM1 DISPLAY PR-NUM1 STOP RUN. When I run the program in Micro Focus Cobol and enter in the following data 0328 I get 28.00 which is not right. When I run the program in our older mainframe and enter in the following data 0328 I get 3.28 which is to be expected the leading zero is suppressed. Not sure how to get Zero Suppression working in Micro Focus Cobol

I have a dialog screen with a text entry field (class library field). After the first character I start a search and display a listview. So far so good. I want to have back the focus on that text entry field. After the statement SHOW-WINDOW WIN-MAT I have the following statements MOVE “SET-FOCUS” call-function(1) CLEAR-CALLOUT-PARAMETERS $NULL CALLOUT "matxtfld" 0 $NULL (matxtfld is the modified efdemotxtfld.cbl) It doesn’t work, maybe I have to add the Statement SET OBJECT-REF(1) , but to what? Can someone give me a hint Regards, Georg

How do I program a TEXTBOX so that it validates the contents when the user enters some value inside it then presses the <RET> key? I have an 'Employee Number' box defined as my first text entry field where a user should enter an Employee number then press <RET> Once the <RET> key is pressed my code should go and check that the data entered exists as an actal employee. The problem is that I don't be able to find a textbox method or event that caters for this action. Have tried the event 'Leave' but this only works when I press the <TAB> key when I've finished entering data in the field and also then messes up all my button actions on screen as 'by definition' as soon as I click on buttons unrelated to the Employee textbox my code attempts to complete the 'Leave' defined code for my Employee text box.

Good morning Sir/Mdm, My name is Christian Murtas, and I am the PM for Creasys Srl, an Italian Cost Management and Project Management company. Creasys is currently interested in buying Extend 10. We have software written with AcuCobol 6.1 and wanted to know if it is possible to migrate to version 10 Extend without forseable complications. Alternatively, can we still purchase AcuCobol 6.1? Thank you in advance for your answer. Cordially, Christian MurtasProject Manager / Creasys S.r.L.

Hello, I also need to call COBOL programs from C# on MicroFocus environment. I have checked the C# Winbook example and my solution based on it worked perfectly. But I have a lot of already existing COBOL code, which is in form of "Managed Mainframe Subsytem Application" instead of "Class Library" Project with preference to compile into Multiple Assemblies, and I have encountered multiple problems with calling this COBOL code from C# in a way presented in example mentioned before. 1. Referencing a project is not helpful, because each COBOL file in project creates its own assembly.I solved it with referencing directly DLLs created from COBOL sources. 2. ilsmartlinkage appears to not work in this type of COBOL project (despite enabling this option in project preferences). Thus, classes representing parameters defined in linkage sections are either not generated at all or not available in my C# project.Any help in solving this issue would be appreciated. Best Regards

I have a microfocus cobol program that is reading an rm file. One of the "columns" is a S9V9999 field. if the rm world I would copy it to a pic 99.9999 and the value is readable. The value 0050{ gets converted to 0.0500 in rm and 0.0511 in microfocus. Any one dealing with a similar issue. I'm looking at how rm encodes signed numbers and will continue to post on this.
I have a check printing program which bypasses the Windows print driver. I have been told by Micro Focus support that it is no longer supported on Windows 10. Does anyone have a workaround. I have told to use a third party software but I have not had any luck with them.#Printer
I'm just now installing Visual COBOL PE 2.3. The only download option seems to be for the Visual Studio Edition. The installer stops to tell me I have to install Visual Studio version 2015. I'm interested in working with Eclipse and not enthused about installing Visual Studio. Am I missing something?
FYI, Win7, Visual Studio 2013 Pro, version 12.0.40629.00 Update 5, .NET Framework version 4.5.51209, Visual COBOL version 2.2. Here is a simple managed console app: program-id. Program1 as "cblConTest1.Program1". data division. working-storage section. 01 WORK-STORAGE-GROUP-ITEM. 05 TEST-1 PIC X(10) VALUE " ABCDEFGHI". 01 WorkString string. 01 CharArray1 character occurs any. 01 CharArray2 character occurs any. procedure division. Set WorkString = TEST-1. Set CharArray1 = WorkString::ToArray. Set CharArray2 = TEST-1::ToArray. goback. end program Program1. The above builds/compiles with no errors or warnings. When the last statement executes: 1) in step-thru Debug mode, you get a "FatalExecutionEngineError was detected". 2) in "Start Without Debugging" mode, you get a Windows pop-up message that the app has stopped working and you are asked if you want to send more
