PROBLEM When running a newer version of AcuConnect on the server, the automatic update is triggered and installed on the client machine as expected. After this, when the .atc file is launched, the previous version of AcuThin is still used instead of the new installed version. This means that the automatic update is triggered again.   RESOLUTION An additional registry key, created for the .atc extension and set to a previous version of AcuThin, was causing the .atc file to always be launched with that version even after an automatic update. This registry key atc_auto_file, in fact any <ext>_auto_file key is created when trying to open a file and are prompted with "Open With" or "How do you want to open this file" dialog. Responding with a specific version of AcuThin means that this will always be used regardless of newer versions of AcuThin that are installed. Removing the atc_auto_file registry keys resolves this issue. N.B. The following solution require

 Hi To summarize: In VC 2.3 for VS, we need to digitally sign portions of an XML document in SOAP envelope.  We are using classes in System.Security.Cryptography.Xml, in particular the class SignedXml We are having trouble signing xml when we add a Reference based on an Id attribute.  We are getting "Malformed Reference Element" exception when ComputeSignature is invoked. I have my printer_redirection value = true in my app.config file under Tunables.  Is there an option that I can set in this same place that will open up the windows printer dialog.  Right now, my file is going straight to the printer without allowing me to change options such as printing landscape or whatever is available for my printer dialog.

 Hello,  We are using RM/COBOL with the WOW Extension Designer version 10.01, InstantSQL and SQL Server 2016 database.  We have a situation where we are receiving this error even though we have an end statement following the query that is causing the error.  We also have an end statement prior to the query that is receiving the error. Until the 2007 office when executing the insert pictures instruction the images were recorded in the Excel document that was being created without problem.When transferring this Excel to other computers or sending it by e-mail, the images were embedded in the Excel and therefore displayed correctly.As of office 2007, Microsoft, when executing the pictures insert instruction, only links them. I've recently been looking at implementing message queues to be shared between a number of acu run units. I'm developing for Windows 10 (Acu 8.1.1), and it looks like MSMQ would be the best messaging option for me (since it's already licensed). I know that some people have already used MSMQ with acucobol as there's an old thread from 2005 giving code examples and making reference to an msmq.def generated by Axdefgen from the MSMQ libraries, but I've been unable to point Axdefgen at said libraries as they aren't appearing in the libraries listbox. Anyone else using MSMQ? I'd be grateful for any advice.

I am run on redhat 7.3 using screen sections with foreground and background color and would like to know if there is a way to determine if a user screen is showing up properly in color, because if it is not then I want to try for white on gray instead of the stark white and black that happens now. Maybe the lack of expected results is due to terminal type or some other setting but I think I should be able to write a character in say white on blue and then read that character to see if that is the result I expected. Was thinking about the library routine of cbl_read_scr_chattrs but not sure how to compare the information received in the attribute buffer.  Any suggestions?   Snip from current code below where I have had to use the routine for cbl_scr_set_pc_attribute to have screen rewrites work properly. I think this question may have been answered before, but I couldn't find anything whilst searching the site, so I thought I'd try the direct method. We are beginning the process if upgrading from Visual Cobol 2.2 to 4.0.  I already have 2.2 for Visual Studio 2012 installed on my workstation.  If I install Visual Studio 2015 and Visual Cobol 4.0, will I be able to run both, or will the 4.0 install overlay 2.2. I will still be maintaining 2.2 code while working through the upgrade process, so I was hoping I could use both on the same machine. Thanks for the help! Mike#VisualCOBOL

I am a COBOL programmer trying to create a Web Application in Visual Cobol from a very old system with multiple programs and screens. I am struggling to find tutorials or videos which would help. My knowledge of ASP.net is very limited. I have been through the Tutorial: Developing Web Applications which is wonderful but doesn't really explain how I can use it for my application. It's time to revamp our bitmap button bar, and before we invest in code that decides on which of several size bitmaps to use, depending on screen resolution, one thought is to simply use an SVG icon instead of a bitmap icon.  Anyone figure out how to do this?

Can you access enums in one class from another?  I have a models folder with some enum values setup in a class file.  I want to access those enums from within another class.  When I instantiate the class object (myClass type Stats value new Stats()), i was hoping to have access to the enum values, but intellisense does not seem to recognize them.
