Problem:

How does EnterpriseLink handle Load Balancing? As additional users log on, what happens? Can EnterpriseLink run in a cluster of servers?

Resolution:

EnterpriseLink was designed from the outset to be cluster-aware. It does not rely on Microsoft Wolfpack (a.k.a. Microsoft Cluster Server, MCS) or on Sun components.

The EnterpriseLink Remote Administration screen is used to configure EnterpriseLink Cluster Service. The EnterpriseLink Servers hyperlink contains the List tab, which shows all of the EnterpriseLink Servers in a cluster. Additional nodes are added to the cluster with the Add... button.

EnterpriseLink Cluster Service balances based on selectable criteria: round robin, total concurrent sessions (as reported by Performance Monitor) or work. The least busy gets the next session. As a browser user connects, the balancing decision is made. That browser user is pegged to that node until the EnterpriseLink Session Timeout (in the Remote Administration menu) is reached.

The EnterpriseLink Cluster Service is an add-on component. It is not distributed during the trial program.
