I am just an end user (no programming skills) trying to copy from data from Rumba AS/400 Version 7.5.2 SP0 Patch0 to MS Excel 2010 (really!).

I currently use the Print/Paste Area Setup model to extract data from multiple pages without exporting the page's header row.  Since we went to Windows 7 recently (really!), I now get  a dialogue box; RUMBA Printing: "Could not copy to clipboard". I have been told it is due to some interface issue between W7 and Rumba causing a cache issue? My temporary fix is to restart my computer two times. Then the clipboard works for a while before the same problem arises again.

If you know of another way to fix this, or another way altogether of extracting data out of my session, it would be most helpful.

Hi,

my first recommendation is to update to a more recent version of RUMBA if possible.
Then you can continue to work with the print/paste area.

If an update is not possible than you can replicate the print/paste with a macro.
The macro doesn’t require any scripting skills.

The key commands would be:

Copy From
PasteTo

You also need to check for the more (or any other key word) to Page through the application.

A more flexible option would be to use RUMBA Script but this requires a bit of scripting.
