Hi,

We have a reoccurring issue on our site on random desktops where we have Rumba 8.2 installed. It will periodically upon launching Rumba Desktop 8.2 start the Installation Program rather than the actual application. Then it will prompt the user for the install file location (which they don't have access to as they are not admins) at which point the program has no option but to close. Rumba is then not able to open for them until the program gets uninstalled and reinstalled.

Logging on as admin and running the same Application results in expected behaviour and the program launching.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this may be happening?

The machines are Win7 32bit, 4gb RAM, Lenovo M92's.

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,
did it work before ? What changed ?
Is there any process / policy in place that replaces Rumba files after the installation ?
I have seen the described behavier in cases in which the Ehllapi.dll was renamed / replaced.

Hi, Nothing has changed. The application will work then just stop working with the above issue. If you log on as admin it will still let you open the application.
Even if you do a repair on the installation it still won't work. A full install is normally required.
I may try replacing the Ehllapi.dll next time it happens.
Thanks
