Status: DeclinedUnfortunately, after researching this enhancement, we will not be able to consider for a future release. HiUnder package view options, both "dev staging library" and "prod staging library" were not visible. It's expected that each time user may need to navigate to the corresponding component in order to know those libraries. Hence it would be nicer to have these features in package view options so all options are visible in one place.Regards#DevandProdstaging
Status: DeliveredIncluded in ZMF 8.3HiIn the current plugin version that we are testing(patch4) doesn't support activity log extractions(both ONLINE and Batch). These options are effectively being used in the ISPF, hence it would be nice to have similar functionality in the plugin too. Regards#ZMFPluginActivityLogs
Status: DeliveredIncluded in ZMF 8.3HiIn the current plugin(patch4) that we are testing doesn't support ZMF reporting features (both at application level and package level). These options are being used by developers in the ISPF, hence it would be nice to have similar functionality in the plug-in too. Regards#ZMFReports
Status: DeliveredIncluded in ZMF 8.3Create another RACF entity that can be used to allow a user the ability to add subscribers for Event Services without giving global admin. #Event
Status: DeliveredIncluded in ZMF 8.3HiWhen one user edit the component in ISPF and other user tries to edit same component from the plugin, then dialogbox message appears -> "COMPONENT IN USE | Component requested is in use by another user". But it doesn't show up the Tso-id of the user who is actually editing it.To summarize : This scenario works as expected when two users works simultaneously in ISPF. But it doesn't work when one user works in ISPF and other user try to edit from the plugin.Regards #Displayofuseridwhoeditthecomponent
Status: DeliveredIncluded in ZMF 8.3We requested customization in the component query process in the changeman plugin. Today the plugin allows querying by * in the component field and this causes a performance problem due to scanning of all existing components. In the test I performed through the plugin, it caused the plugin to crash for a long time, making me turn off and turn on the plugin again. In Changeman ZMF we were able to include a treatment by the Panel that blocks the query by *#query#Customizationoptions#Customization#ZMF4ECL
Hello, I have seen for REST-API Feature, there are several fixes: p05_112, p05_113, p05_114 and I understand the best option is to apply the later date or the last available. My question is: How can I know if it is convenient or not to update the ZMF REST client if a new update appears? Is there a document or site on the web where you can see the news that the latest fix published brings or what problems does it solve to make a decision about it? Regards#ChangeManZMF

Status: DeclinedSetting this to CLOSED due to the alternative workaround suggested some time back and not acquiring votes. If this needs further clarification, please let us know and we can revisit this request. Thank youWe upgraded from v 8.1.1 to v 8.2.1 in September 2019. On the previous day before the upgrade we used to get messages like package success and failure in the started task. We had automation set up to send an email to the administrator when there was a failure. The admin wants to know immediately when there is a failure. We would like the feature added back.Can you suggest a work around until it is restored?#Notification
Status: DeliveredWhen querying a component, ZMF displays a list of packages where the component can be found. It would be useful to have an option to query one of these packages, instead of only being able to select the compile and link edit options used.Panel CMNCMPH1 will need to be enhanced. As well as option S to display panel CMNCMPH2, a new option is required to perform the same functionality as QP.
Status: AcceptedOctane ID 135006 We've made a website that shows baseline components. The website uses the changeMan REST-api. The user has to choose application, componenttype and type in the component name (getting suggestions from dss-service). We also want to show the older baseline versions but there is no service that shows how many baseline versions of a component are existing. #REST-APIservices

hi dear Rocket supporter,We are testing Git for z/os to try to migrate our mainframe source code from ClearCase to Git. As we are a banking in China, so we need to make sure Git for z/os support Chinese character. We tried the below configuration:Then, I update the txt file on git server, add a new line with "中国银行" which are four Chinese characters, as below Then, I checkout the update on z/os uss, I got the wrong code page translation, the ending '0f' is lost.fyi, you can see "中国" is correctly displayed, because I added the "中国" from the z/os uss end, then push to git server. But if I do the update from the git server end and then checkout the update from the z/os uss end, the error occurred. Please could you help to take a look at this problem? Hello I can see R 3.3.0 is scheduled for availability by 2017 end or early 2018. Is there any older working version of R still available for download at this site. IBM websites / redbooks all refers to Rocket website for R download. Does R support or will support z/OS datasets Has anyone tried that and care for sharing there experience. Kind regards Prabhat
I’m trying to get started. We have a Jenkins agent running in OMVS, maybe not properly, but...it’s a start.i am looking at installing the Rocket OpenSource tools, but...if I want to run Ansible, for which ZOAU requires a later version of python, and seemingly requires the IBM-distributed version (3.9.x) and not the Rocket-distributed version (3.7.x?).IF I start by installing the Python that comes with z/OS v2r5, which is the later version, does Conda recognize that it’s installed and not try to install a second version?I think that’s all I need to know at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll have more questions as I go.Thanks,R;
I believe I have miniconda installed correctly. I left the default config files, and I'm using the base environment.When I try to do a search on the free repo, I get the following: (base) bash-4.3# conda search p* Loading channels: failed CondaHTTPError: HTTP 401 UNAUTHORIZED for url <https://condaserver.rocketsoftware.com/api/repo/zoss Elapsed: 00:01.360496 The remote server has indicated you are using invalid credentials for this channel. If the remote site is anaconda.org or follows the Anaconda Server API, you will need to (a) remove the invalid token from your system with `anaconda logout`, optionally followed by collecting a new token with `anaconda login`, or (b) provide conda with a valid token directly. I see the latest version of cURL in Conda/AppDev is 7.73. Are there plans to roll out 7.75 in the near future?Some of our App. Developers are requesting cURL 7.75 for a connection from the zSeries to AWS in the cloud.Thank You,Ross Vaughn
Hi,(Apologies if this is a duplicate I seem to be having trouble posting)Can someone point me to the doc on how to specify my credentials in miniconda?If I issue a conda command I getCondaHTTPError: HTTP 401 UNAUTHORIZED for url <https://condaserver.rocketsoftware.com/api/repo/zoss-appdev/noarch/repodata.json> I'm pretty sure I have a support account, but haven't figured out how to specify my credentials.I've seen the previous post about the 401 error, suggesting using a different channel, but with my firewall already configured for condaserver I thought I would try and use this channel.Thanks!Jeff A

Hi,the issue in 3.6.1 shown below for opening a z/OS file, I see some discussion from couple of years back in the forum that says the functionality should be coming, not sure why it even dropped between 2.7 and 3.6. Does anyone know if opening a z/OS dataset is possible yet in 3.6.1?EDC5129I No such file or directory.: "//MY.PDS(TEXT)'"using: f= open("//'MY.PDS(TEXT)'",'rb')regardsSteve------------------------------Stephen McAuliffeSystems EngineerBank of AmericaBromley United Kingdom------------------------------
Dear Rocket Community,i got a quick usage question regarding git-2.26.2-pl524_78 and i hope u guys can enlighten me.I`ve "installed" git-2.26.2-pl524_78 and its dependencies (bash-4.3.48-2, gzip-1.9-4, perl-5.24.4-4) into userspace under USS (OS/390 TEST 26.00 04 8561) and also set some environment variables like:export GIT_SHELL=$HOME/rocket/bin/bashexport GIT_EXEC_PATH=$HOME/rocket/libexec/git-coreexport GIT_TEMPLATE_DIR=$HOME/rocket/share/git-core/templatesexport PATH=$PATH:$HOME/rocket/binexport MANPATH=$MANPATH:$HOME/rocket/man/export _CEE_RUNOPTS="FILETAG(AUTOCVT,AUTOTAG) POSIX(ON)"export _BPXK_AUTOCVT=ONexport _TAG_REDIR_ERR=txtexport _TAG_REDIR_IN=txtexport _TAG_REDIR_OUT=txtexport _ENCODE_FILE_NEW=IBM-1047export _ENCODE_FILE_EXISTING=IBM-1047The git client and bash seem to work fine.Now i was under the assumption that checked out repositorys (ISO-8859-1 or UTF-8) are automatically converted to local codepage IBM-1047. That does not happen somehow. Files are still in the remote
I am following: https://docs.python.org/3/distutils/introduction.html#a-simple-example and haven’t been able to get the example to build correctly on z/OS with python 3.6.1 I noticed a few oddities: the code was trying to run a script xlc_echocmd which I don’t have. I created a dummy one that just forwarded to xlc as a hack the code was referencing libraries and packages out of /u/pdharr/anaconda-build. I created a dummy user of that name and then created symbolic links over to my installation tree directories xlc was being driven with a -o option at the end of the command. xlc doesn’t like that and wants the -o option at the start. I manually did the link to see what would happen and ended up with SYMBOL Py_InitModule3 UNRESOLVED. My question - has anyone successfully built a native python extension for z/OS with python 3.6.1? If so, what am I missing in my config?
I have miniconda installed, and trying to download the git client for z/OS. About 7 years ago I held a Customer Advisory Board, and I asked the 25+ customers in attendance how much open source they are adopting. I was surprised that only a handful of customers raised their hands. I then threw out some open source tool names like Git and Jenkins, thinking that may invoke more hands. Instead, I got several asking me what is Git and many of the rest grunted and said that Jenkins isn’t anything they’d ever consider because they required commercial offerings. A couple years later, I asked the same question and all of the customers in attendance, this time 30 of them, raised their hands. Most of them were repeat customers, which was impressive to see a fast moving trend of open source adoption. I then asked them what changed, given that a few short years ago there was disdain for open source tools. Their answers varied. But the common theme was that open source tools are easy to consume and it makes developers more successful as they tend to be tools they’re more fa
