This would be a "check off" process and "checked off" members could be redisplay (return to the Consolidated Workplace list) using another command to "show checked off members". This would limit the workplace to only members that require attention.
When preparing for our ZMF 8.1 upgrade we have obviously all checked the Serena Support site – OEM Software Compatibility information here (you need to be logged into the Support website to access this link). And from this we understand that z/OS 1.12 is the minimum supported operating system. However, we all know that we can always fire up ZMF on an earlier z/OS level and it will just about always work, right? Well, no, that is not the case with ZMF 8.1. As a part of the ISPF CUA standardization effort implemented in ZMF 8.1, extensive use of ISPF )INEXIT functionality has been made. This ISPF processing is only available in z/OS 1.11 and later versions. Attempting to access the ZMF 8.1 panels from a pre-z/OS 1.11 system will result in ISPF errors, such as (but almost certainly not limited to) the following: Short message: Panel 'CMN@PRIM' error. Long message: A panel section is out of order or has already been defined. So, the u
The flexibility to customize ZMF to meet your user's requirements is one of the great advantages of ZMF. This flexibility also introduces additional complexity as you upgrade ZMF from release to release. Customer feedback tells us that forward fitting your customizations to a new ZMF release is a significant part of every upgrade project. At xChange 2015, we hosted a 'best practices' session on this topic which received positive feedback on the recommendation to 'take the vanilla challenge'. For those unfamiliar with my use of the term 'vanilla', it means 'as delivered' or 'out of the box'. The challenge for you, is to to investigate your customizations and eliminate those that are unnecessary. So, what are the items to consider as you attempt to minimize your customizations? What our Customers are Telling Us Let's start with some assumptions which we have discovered while working with customers over the past few years. Forward fitting cu

Are there any customers out there that are running extended addressability to extend beyond the 4GB limit for the Package Master, Component Master, and Recovery Master? Serena says they have customers running SSV (staging versioning files) with extended addressability with no issue.#ChangeManZMF
xChange is over and everyone is heading back home. We had people from all over the world gladly sharing experience and expertise. Not to mention a few brews. The buz on the mainframe side was all about ZMF 8.1.0 and the new features it offers. First the look and feel has been improved on the ISPF side, as they have adopted IBM CUA standards. Secondly they have really made it possible to move 99% of the custom code out of the panels. Full support of ERO on Client pack. The admins will love the new facility to populate local admin options yo other applications. They just started so more features are coming. There are a tone of other fixes and enhancements. Better performance and flexibility is a strong theme through out. its time to upgrade More details on all the features as soon as I get a break. got to catch a plane ....... ChangeMan ZMF has updated the user interface in a big way. Version 7 was the release that changed the way the JCL was generated. We moved away from coding multiple copies of base skeletons and entered the world of reuse. Most older customers and I visited some who had been with ChangeMan from back in the late 80's had some real problems with the upgrade. First they had upgraded so many time and some of them did it themselves so it looked like Lucy and Ethel had been working on the code. (we will see who gets that reference) For many of them we were able to clean it up and eliminate a large number of Skeletons and stream line their processes. The CUA implementation is going to be interesting for a lot of customers because Serena changed every screen. -- They all look the same and yes they all work the same. We got what we asked for and they have done a great job. Now if you have been with ChangeMan since 1989, chances are someone who is retired modified more scree
