To our Valued Customers:

We wish to inform you of an issue identified in our legacy Mobius viewing clients, DocumentDirect for the Internet (all versions), Mobius Luminist (all versions), or Mobius View versions 8.x or 9.x. As previously communicated, these products have not been supported since January 1, 2020. If you are still using these products, they are considered unsupported software.

These software packages were last updated between 2018 and 2021. All versions noted above may be impacted by the issue described in this notice. Continued use of unsupported software is strongly discouraged.

Rocket has recently become aware of a situation in which, under extremely high system load (such as when timeout, server busy, or other volume-related errors occur), content requested by one user may inadvertently be returned to a different user, resulting in unintended data exposure. This exposure is entirely random and cannot be intentionally triggered.

To address this risk, Rocket strongly recommends migrating to the current successor solutions: Mobius View / Rocket Content Explorer, version 12.5.x.

For customers that are unable to decommission these legacy clients immediately, exposure risk can be reduced by techniques such as throttling load to the system. Our teams are happy to provide guidance on implementing those mitigations.

If you are using any of the impacted software, please contact Rocket immediately via support@rocketsoftware.com. While we strongly recommend moving away from outdated and unsupported software, we’re happy to provide guidance tailored to your situation and environment. If you have questions or need help, just let us know—our support is offered as a courtesy and doesn’t reinstate official support or warranty for these older products.
