I have 2 packages that were developed under MicroFocus (SCO Unix) that now need to be brought over to either windows or Linux. How do I compile these using the Visual Studio 2010 and also run these programs. All screens were developed under the old character type screens and this is fine to continue to use. Also, would anyone know if I can simply copy over the data files. Thanks,

The target platform of choice would dictate which product you need to accomplish the task.

If you want to run under Windows then you would need either the Net Express product or the Visual COBOL product.
If you want to compile using the Visual Studio 2010 IDE then Visual COBOL for Visual Studio would be your best choice. This product generates either native Windows code or .NET managed code to run under Windows so you cannot develop with Visual Studio 2010 and directly generate code to run under Linux.

If you wish to run under Linux then you would need either the Server Express product or the Visual COBOL for Eclipse/Dev Hub product which uses the Eclipse IDE.

Your data files created under earlier producr releases should be compatible with current versions.

Thanks.
