In Chapter 7 of the Microfocus support documentation under Data Sources the document indicates that when Net Express is installed two data source names (DSN's) are created automatically. "Netexpress Sample1 and Net Express Sample 2" that point to sample access databases (demo.mdb & sample.mdb) that are installed as part of NetExpress in the \\demo\\smpldata directory. I am unable to locate these.... did I miss something on the intial install? I am trying to see if the connection to the database works. I need to get this connection working in order to debug programs so I was going to try and set up OpenESQL to try and access the database via an ODBC driver. Any advice would be much apprecaited.Page 1 / 1

You'll need to execute the ODBC Administrator utility. If you're running on a 64-bit OS, then to create a 32-bit DSN you should invoke C:\\Windows\\Syswow64\\Odbcad32.exe . Otherwise, simply execute odbcad32.exe . Then :
1. Click on the System DSN tab, and click Add
2. Double click on Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)
3. Enter any name in the Data Source Name field. You'll use that later on when executing one of the OpenESQL samples
4. Click Select , and navigate to your Net Express installation directory. Under there, navigate to Examples\\Net Express IDE\\SMPLDATA\\ACCESS . You'll find both sample databases there, demo.mdb and sample.mdb .
Hope that helps!
Simon.
